7 Springs Alternative?

I know that 7 Springs has stepped it up in the park department in recent years, but I'm in search of more challenging all mountain terrain. Has anyone ever tried any of the other regional options; Blue Knob, Timberline, or Snowshoe?

blue know is bad ass. it makes you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere due to the low amount of ammenities.

I mean just based on the vertical numbers they would have to be an improvement. All are within 3hrs of Pgh depending on what kind of driver you are. I think I'm going to diversify this season.

Snowshoe: 1500ft

Timberline: 1000ft

Blue Knob: 1072ft

7 Springs: 750ft

I will be skiing Blue Knob on the regs this season because I live 20 minutes away. It's an awesome resort terrain wise, and honestly if there is a dump of a foot or more there is no place I would rather be, but there is really nothing of a park which degrades from it in my opinion. Also, there are never lift lines, and the trees never get tracked out too badly, if you know where to look you can always find the fresh stuff.

holiday valley and peek'n peak as other alternatives. just out of Erie right in NY. drove up there a few times its just a shitty drive back after the day. Snowshoe has that telescope right near it so there is zero cell phone service. not a downfall but just a heads up.

Yeah, I went to undergrad in Erie, so I've skied Peek' n Peak as well as Holiday. Holiday was pretty solid but Peek' n Peek was just ok. Aound here I've skied the Springs and Hidden Valley. A place near Columbus too, called Mad River which was Horrible though.

i have a pass for springs so with their new purchase of hidden valley hopefully they make something where you can use it at both. but i doubt that.

For an additional 50 dollars on top of the 7 Springs season pass you can have a "Highlands" Pass, which gives you unlimited access to both resorts. That's a great deal in my opinion, I just purchased my combined pass yesterday.
