64 in a 25

like if they mess up your name or your license plate # or anything. my friend was doin 60 in a 30 but the cop said it was 60 in a 35 and when he challeged it it got thrown out cause the cop recorded the speed limil on the road wrong.

My friend got pulled over doing 115 on the highway. $500 ticket, but she got out of it because the cop put the wrong county of jurisdiction on the ticket. She payed the lawyer $300 and walked away clean. Amazing the way you can manipulate the court system if you have money...

you're parents will find out because unless you turn 18 by your court date they have to accompany you to the court. I got a 97 in a 65 and fought that shit but lost and paid $350 but only got 3 points. That's California though and from what I've heard our penalties are some of the severest.

They won't take your liscence away most likely you'll just be landed with a big fine $350-$450 most likely and you will have to pay higher insurance premium due to the points on your record. You can't do traffic school for this ticket because of how fast you were going.

Residential or not makes little difference. School zones and construction zones are the ones that double your fine I believe.

my system= 4-6 points off, a fine between 20-200 dollars (around there)

if under 18=go to court and pay for the hereing

2 points??? ya right i got 4 for running a red light. i think more than 30 over is six points off your liscence

yeah your fucked. im surpised you werent arrested on the spot. if that was vermont you'd loose you license for 3-6 months. my buddy was going 56 in a 35 and got 5 pts...

you migh tget lucky, my friend got caught doing 88 in a construction zone, so a 45, he got arrested the whole shit, put his car up for sale to cover insurance, went to court and the dumb ass cop wrote on the backside of the ticket, and since its carbon paper it blead thru and shit so it got thrown out, no fines, no points, insurance didnt find out, and he got to keep his car

You should Challenge it, I got caught for 71 in a 45,which is a $200 ticket and 20 day suspension. Instead i Had to go to a traffic safety school for a day.

always fight every ticket you get. They count on people bitching out and mailing their money in. And if you get traffic school you may be able to get you insurance lowered. Go talk to a couple lawyers, it may cost you a ocuple hundred bucks but they know how to work the system.

Or don't even sweat that shit if you a momma's boy, let them pay higher insurance.

my dads a lawyer so that might help. also, my friend said go to like court supervision and the ticket wont effect your insurance and they clean your record.

fuck, if someone already said the stuff im about to say, im sorry, but im not going to read every response...

heres the deal...if you contest the ticket, and lose...which you will. you will have to pay the full fine.

the reason you will lose, is because, the only way to win is to have the cop not show up (which they've shown up all three times ive tried that), or by PROVING you didnt do it. It cant just be your word against the cops, cause they'll take his side. Keep in mind that fighting/contesting it, is saying that you DIDNT commit the act on the ticket. The police officer writes down everything you say in his notes on the back of the ticket, thats what hes doing as he's sitting in his car. So if he pulled you over and you said "sorry, i didnt realize i was going that fast"...or something. then try to contest it, the judge is going to see that and count it as a confession. That's what happened to me.

You could,

a.) cut your losses, mitigate it, which is just explaining circumstances (ie: im sorry, ive never gotten a ticket before, have mercy)...and you'll get the fine greatly reduced.

b.) defer it. so basically you pay 100 bucks or so in court fees, plus whatever the ticket is (depending on the state you either have to pay it or dont), and its not on your record, so your parents wont find out nor will it go on your insurance. Although, you only get 1 deferral like every 6 years or something like that. And if you defer a ticket, if you get another one within a certain time period, your original ticket that you deferred you get nailed with.

ummm, hope any of that helps, although it appears you're from IL, and I don't know anything about there. I'd look at this list:

goodluck!

haha thats funny, my friend got pulled over at lunch today going like 60-65 in a 25. But the cop didnt radar him, he just knew he was going really fast and pulled him over, so he didnt get a ticket.

I think it's safe to say that whenever there is a situation where you think to yourself "I'm lucky I didn't get arrested on the spot," you're probably in some pretty deep trouble.

I don't know about Illinos, but in california you can choose to go to traffic school to pay off your ticket. It's the way to go if you can do it... you either get less or no points, you don't have to pay for the ticket (you have to pay for traffic school, but it's cheaper). And your insurance won't go up as much. They figure after a couple hours of traffic school you've learned your lesson. haha...

You'd still have to tell your parents, but they'll get over it eventually.

a bunch of bullshit if you loose so many u loose ur license but they suspend and take away ur license even if ur not at that point mark so its a pointless system as far as i know!!

i was doing 85 in a 55 and got a 50 dollar fine.. and no proof of insurece also and tailgating. i got lucky. plus i have a wreckless driving and 2 speeding tickets on top of that

good news. i just have to go in and pay the ticket which will be 95 and be on court supervision (records clean, dont tell insurance, just cant get a ticket in the next year) and my parents wont know shit if i just intercept the mail

wait so what are you supposed to say when you get pulled over? i mean if you say sorry officer i didnt realize i was going that fast? well, they ask you how fast you thought you were going, you say i thought i was going the speed limit. then he says well you were going 70 miles an hour in a 30. then what do you say? really? i had no idea??doesnt that make you sound like a dumbass, oblivious driver and you pretty much deserve to get a ticket cuz you werent paying attention to your speed? what's the reccomendation on that?
