6 year old boy floats away..

the more i see of this. the more i think it has a very good chance of being a setup. i was watching CNN last night when the kid said "it was for the show" or whatever his exact words were. i smell a publicity stunt.

FUCK THIS THREAD.
the story is over. now we just have people coming in and posting the SAME FUCKING INFORMATION over and over and over. AT LEAST read the thread please.
PLEASE.

i heard they were at one point trying to pitch their own reality tv show.

but im not sure what they might have, or might not have been trying to get by this stunt. if it was in fact a stunt, pure speculation on my part. maybe they wanted their 1minute of fame?

New: authorities are probably pressing charges. Also if possible, please lower ski Minnesota's karma. 0 is not low enough.

dont worry pal. i think your karma rating is at either 8 or 9 on my page.

anywho, what did i do in this thread to warrant your vendetta against me?

looks as though my speculation was possibly correct? i havent watched the news at all this weekend im a bit out of the loop.

hahaha i really dont see what i posted that would have so enraged you.

So it has become apparent that there was some level of hoax going on and that the parents are pretty insane.

However from reading that article and all the other stuff I have a different theory. I think that they had planned to release the balloon and say it was an accident and get attention by having this giant strange looking balloon flying through the sky. I don't think they intended to say their son was in the balloon but after the initial take off they thought he was in the balloon. They found him minutes later and after seeing all the media attention they were getting the told him to hide.

What a fucking weird story.

I hate that this guy calls himself a scientist.

yes i did, but did he not proceed to confronting the crowd after the guy walked up to his car.

?.. clearly there was no harm done when the reporter or whoever walked up beside his car... and that was what pushed him over the edge? youve got to be kidding me. and he had called the cops before that had even happened.

what i was trying to say before was that he shouldnt have done anything else but call the police, i didnt say anything about him not calling the police?

Why? His town was being abducted by the paparazzi. That's what they are, not reporters. He had every right to stand up for himself. People who do harm instead of good don't deserve silence from those they intrude. People who flock innocent lives for "the story" can suck it. There is a right way, and a wrong way, to go about your business. He called the police. He did the right thing.

I would have been just as annoyed and pissed off as that guy.

Well what the fuck were they supposed to do?? Not try to rescue the kid they thought was in the balloon? Fucking moron.

As said before, the family is a bunch of fucking whack-jobs. TLC has come out and said that they pitched a show to them months ago, but that they passed on it. They're losers.

And honestly, what did Minnesota do? All he did was reiterate the general opinion of this thread.

you basically agreed with everything i said. you misunderstood me though. i said that he was wrong by flipping shit over that one guy walking upto his car. i said nothing about him being stupid for getting mad at the situation. i said that if he had already called the cops, why try and start more shit? but im canadian, we believe in peace and all that shit, so maybe you (most likely american) think it is okay to defend yourself from a non-violent situation, with violence... yes that is a generalization; however, its also a fact

But...he didn't lay a hand on the guy. And you can't say that he was going to, because you don't personally know that. He was scaring him for sure, which I would have done too. It didn't escalate to violence until the douchebag in the yellow shirt jumped on him.

And don't give me that American/Canadian bullshit, please. Its so ridiculous. I may not think the best of some of the citizens I live among, but its sad that the pitiful ones are recognized more than the worthwhile ones.

what would any by-stander think of the situation if the guy got out of his car, already pissed before getting out, then basically runs infront of a guy just to stop right infront of him and talk to him? if any of us were there, the 14 year old part of our body would be saying " OOO BEEF", dont lie. thats why the yellow guy did something. i am not justifying the yellow shirt guy's actions whatsoever, im just saying that it is kinda obvious that it "looked" like he was going to be violent.

i had told you that it was a generalization so relax. and if i were to refer to america as being a peacefull non-violent place, it would be the same as me saying america has more black people than white people. everybody says things that are known facts even though it might demote the select people who are not part of that side of statistic. i have personally heard from americans that canada does feel like a safer place, mostly those from detroit who visit windsor every now and then.
