been doing some math and I am 80% sure that there is no way that could have lifted off the ground at Colorado altitude and a weight of 60 lbs for the boy. just not enough volume.
 
what if it turns out to be something like district 9?

like... what if the box fell off, and someone saw it fall off, but they can never find it. Then, the box is going to emerge 32 years later and go to the baloon, then fly to the parents house (with the 38 year old inside)

ya there was a mythbusters episode like this. it took an assload of weather balloons to get one little girl off the ground. NO WAY that that dinky little ufo thing lifted the kid off the ground.
 
if anyone wants to try to calculate this the formula is this.

Volume*28.2/448. Then calculate for air density in Denver which would subtract lift.

if someone would have just sat down for 2 fucking seconds and ran the numbers they would have seen that there was no way that that balloon could have reached that altitude or even lifted off with that volume of helium.

I am pissed that the dad, the scientist, who has worked on this thing and knows it capacity, thought it could lift a 60 pound kid.

Haha is this the crazy family that did the wife swap like 4 times? Haha that family is so fucked up from the episodes I saw with them in it (idk why I was watching it but i did). The kid literally looks like the id "controling the southern hempisphere" haha.
 
that kid fuckin sucks. he hid in a box for a few hours while his parents almost had heart attacks, and the whole denver area panicked too.
