I’m gonna keep this short but this year I’m thinking about getting the 177 Vishnu Wet for next season and my current skis are 166. I’m only 5’6, would this be too big of a ski for me?

Should be good, the 177’s maneuver like 171’s due to rocker so it’s just slight sizing up at that point

Comfortable ski length depends as much (if not more) on your weight as your height. If you're 5'6 and 120lbs then that's going to be a lot of ski and I wouldn't recommend it, if you're 5'6 160lbs that's a totally different situation. There's also a high degree of personal preference involved. A lot of people on here have a thing for longer skis but riding a ski 10cm taller than yourself, even with that much rocker has downsides. They Wets might ski like a 171 or less on snow but they still feel 177 or close in the air. My guess is you'd be happier on something around 169-172cm (if you're still going to be the same height when you come to ride these next season). If you're growing that also changes things a bit, you need to think how tall you are likely to be next season and also how many seasons you expect skis to last. If you ski 100 days hitting rails every day, you probably need a new ski every year (at least) so buy the right size for now. If they will last you 2-3 years, size up a bit so they still feel good later.

Great advice. I'd also like to add that if you intend on doing leg workouts and getting stronger getting a slightly longer ski will definitely benefit.

your fine dw. i ride 177 wets too and im a little shorter than you. the skis ride really fucking short. may take a couple of days to get used to it but its nothing.

I'm 5'7", I'm skiing on ARV 96 @ 170cm. I accidentally rode my friend's ARV 96s @ 177cm and I felt way more confident. Regretting not getting 177cm
