540s vs 180s

ok, so i hurt my shoulder this week at the hill and i was taking it easy, sliding rails and what not, practicing style

i decided to do a 180 or like a 15 foot air, nothting big

at that point i realize i am alot more comfetable at floating a 540 more then i am doing a 180

now i can do pretty decit 540s, not hucked, float them nice, and working on differnt grabs tweaking out mutes and what not

but for some reason its harder for me to do a 180 then it is a 540

wonder if any one else had this problem

nope but i hate landing forwards. my go to tricks on first run will either be 1s, sw3s or 5s. only after a bunch of laps will i do 3s 7s and cab5s

If your hitting bigger jumps 180s can be harder. This is mostly because its a lot more intimidating to do them, and a lot of times people have trouble throwing them correctly, but dont notice it on smaller jumps. With 180s you really want to use your core to spin, not your arms at all, and a lot of times when you end up using your arms to spin you go off axis and end up falling.

you just gotta keep em slow and smooth, late or really smooth slow 1s are some of the coolest tricks. try goin for a japan or truck driver grab.

i dunno i really prefer 180s...i test most jumps in 180 cause i feel more comfortable kinda sideways in the air and u can always spot ur landing and i fee likel landings are smoother or abit softer for bigger jumps when u land switch

im almost more comfortable doing 540s than 360s. i kinda like not having to stop yourself at a 360 and being able to completely spot that last 180 of the rotation

180's are my favourite trick to do first hit. The key to a 180 is to realise that you don't need to set anything. Come off the jump like you would a straight air and just watch your landing, right before you land all it takes is a quick hip pivot to ski away switch.

landing forwards hurts the tibias !!!

try to get the late 180. the shifty will give you something to do in the air instead of flapping arms ^^

i find 180's easier than 5's. I've only been skiing for like 3 years but going up to a bigger jump i have this mindset that 5's are hard. I can do them on like 25-30ft jumps but anybigger in my mind i just think oh man a 540!j but i can 3 and 1 them fine. I dont know!

I'm more comfortable throwing a 1 than anything else, just because it's so much easier to throw (can't really overrotate/underrotate).

The problem with 1s is that it's not set like an actual spin, so I'd rather 3 or 5 a jump to get the feel for it. But I agree, 1s can be the sickest trick on the hill if grabbed and shifted. Hella massive steeze.

I love 1's they are one of my favorite tricks to. Stomping switch is so much nicer than landing regular. but i think on bigger jumps 5's are easier than 1's

I hate landing 3s because i always hurt my tibias because i tend to lean backwards as i spin a 3. Though i have some siiick 5s and my 1s are fine. Somehow i have lots of trouble hitting a jump switch. Any tips ? :)
