how good should i be to get a 5 cleanly...like i can 3 pretty good but i cant spin really fast

need of some expert advice

Some people got to learn...you don't need good equipment to get some mad tricks

if you don't want to just jump and do a 5 then keep doing 3s and then start sliding a 180 after you land. soon it'll turn into one motion in the air.

yeah, fives arent too hard at all once you get threes dialed. just keep on spinning 3s and start thinking 5; you dont even have to throw harder, its just a regular 3 with a little body twist at the end. easier for me than doing a 360 now.

if you dont think you have enough time to do an extra 180 just go bigger

i can do them.... they aint hard just commit, and keep your head looking after you spin 3, you might take a few slams learning, i know i did, but once you get it, its butter

i did it my second try, its just that easy. all u gotta do is a 3 with a little more air. its only an extra 180. just commit, and when u land look up the hill till u hit the ground. 7's are a lot harder though i think, just to stomp.

i've been really lucky so far, i landed my first 5 and my first 7...you just gotta commit to the trick and not be afraid to fall.

just go bigger and keep looking over your shoulder. I havent done one yet but I think I will soon. I always overrotate my 3's so I figure I'll just do a 5.

My girlfriend told me to shove my skis up my ass

they actually seemed like a big step up from a 360. they where a lot harder for me to do anyways. now theyre easy.

they're easy unless you land wrong and your binding comes off, your flipper thing comes down and catches on the snow and you fly and land on your ass really hard..

there pretty easy, i landed mine first try the other day. just make sure your good at 3s then just ass a 180. it wasnt hard for me

WHAT?? are you shitting me?

540s?

are you insane!?

thats like... landing backwards.

I havent had the chance to do them yet this year.

lack of snow means lack of jumps.

first time trying them just get small amounts of air and try really hucking it. as you start landing them get bigger and bigger and more confident and soon you will your throwing them corked.

peace

i agree with kamikaze, you just gotta think in your head 540 and as you finish your 360 rotation, you just let yourself keep spinning, you don't need to spin much harder at all. Just be patient, on the right amount of spin and air, you should be able to float the extra 180, i also agree that 5's are easier for me to do then 3's.

If u feel comfortable doin 3 of a jump, all u do is spin a bit past the 3 mark and before u know it ur at five, just huck yourself instead of worrying about stomping the landing, that should help.

alright 5's are just throwing a little harder and keeping your head towards your roatation the entire time until you come around to the 5. You do the same thing learning a 7 from a 5. A 7 learning to do a 9 is a lot bigger of a learning gap than 5 to 7

thanks alot boys

Some people got to learn...you don't need good equipment to get some mad tricks. Thats why i use cross-country skis :)

yea we got dumped on today, so I decided why not try them today, basically I found that if you spot your landing after the 3 and just whip your legs around for the next 180 everything just falls into place.

dude, going from 7's to 9s is not that big of a step, its just like ging from a 3 to a 5, just go a lil bit harder

so fuck you too

It's strange. Learning 3's at camp this summer was what I was really focused on. Sure enough, I landed on second try. At the beginning of the season I picked everything right back up again. The mental aspect is important. The first three I threw this season I over rotated and actually brought it back. My mind was telling my body that I'd done what I needed to do. I learned 5's that way too. My body just stops spinning. Just think 540

Make sure that you can do simple 180 and you feel good with those. Then landing switch of a bigger jump will not be so hard.
