ok. so im learning 5's and whenever i go to do it. i always do like a 450 to catch edge and fall over. im doing off a good sized table (20ft. or so) but like i dono i cant get around for some reason. is there any tips that will help me.

ps. ive already tryed the search bar and nothing wiht my problem

try and spot your landing behind your back, that will give you an idea how much farther you have to go.

just keep looking over your shoulder and spot the landing... if your not already bringing up your knees do so, it will give that extra few feet that you need

maybe you arent quite committed i cant do 5s yet though so...

but i can almost get swithc 5s. i pretty much did this weekend, but i went super small so it doesnt count.

i can do them some days... really depends if i land my first one or not.

if i fall it just goes down hill and takes alot to get confidence back.

However you definetly dont need a 20ft table. At Glen Eden (the Sh17h013) we have like a 10 ft table on a good day and its fine for 5ers. jsut gotta spin ur nuts off.

full 100% commitment. Visualize the jump, the rotation, and stomping the landing. If you can jump and spin 360's well a 540 is all mental. Try pre-loading your spins a bit more.

pratise your 3's with your nees bent and then once u have that good then try a three with your knees bent but push off the lip a little harder like wind up with your arms...but not to powerfull.

i just do a quick 3 not really thinking obu it then i just slow it down at the end to setup for tyhe switch landing. its not the tables fault that ur not spinning it because many ppl can do it on the ground to i think your problem is commiting

its def not the size of the jump, i can five off of a 10ft table...just commit, its a mental thing, bc you are used to stopping at 360.....just keep spinning, you'll get it

LEarn switch 3's first. That will really help you get the feeling for the last 180 of a 5. It really helped me to figure out how to bring that last 180 around and stomp it switch. That's what I did and I landed my 5 on the first try.

540s are just overspinning, i was learning my first threes of big jumps yesterday and my first try i almost got a 5 because i suck, so ya just spin more

dont spot your landing at 360 degrees. when i was learning them id spot at 360 and stall for a bit and reach out for that. instead just keep looking and that will make you keep spinning. it seemed to help me. you could also try just popping a little harder and spinning a tad bit harder but no winding up.

get a good prewind and pop hard off the lip. ideally as you are popping you should already be turning your head to begin the spin. in the air tuck your legs and face over your shoulder. as you land extend your legs and absorb it. don't think about it like a 360+180. more often than not when someone thinks that way they hit 360 then pass it and get all squirrely. think about it like a 540 and commit to the 540.

it may because you're leading with your head or shouldours or arms or something. so you have to spin your entire body. also try and tuck up as much as you feel comfortable with then you will maybe land later.

id say just hit a bigger jump, that's how i learned, i accidentally over-roated a 3 in the HL park last year in blackcomb. also, actually pop your skis off your tails, you get a little more air and you stay compact better. if your still having problems after hucking harder and going bigger try carving into your spin.

yeah it's wierd i find switch spins are easier to commit to because you are natuarally going to spin if you're looking over your shoulder.

It might be because your not used to spinning more then 360, so you are probably opening up and setting down the landing gear at 360. Its tough but keep you shit tucked up, and try to overcompensate by throwing a little harder

to start throw down a huge three, then see how much time you have in the air after. Then pull another three, with a one at the end of it.

Just huck it hard...

540s are super sweet when you land your first one, and they are easy afterwards...

Yea I use to do that. I realized that I was spotting my landing as though I was doing a 3 and that stopped my rotation. If you just look up hill when you land, or better yet over the opposite shoulder of the way you spin you should get it and will set your self up better for 7's.

nvr spot ur landing till ur backwards lol.... just wonce ur at the 3 look and see where ur at in the air and if u need to turn more do it or if u dont dont....
