5'3 is 172 good enough

elizabeth is the only ski over 165 that would be good for you, could you ski a 172? probably, but would it be fun? probably not
i'm 5 10 and before i got my bridges i was on 161's and they were fine, you're dialed on short skis

i wouldnt go into the 170s

169 would be pushing it, but there are lots of skis in the 165-169 length range

172 is really pushing it

It depends on what you want them for. I'm 5'1" maybe 5'2" and I have 172 Pandoras and I LOVE them, they are my favorite skis I've ever had. I ride them everywhere.

im 5'6" and i ride 161 invaders but just bought watch life in a 170 so i would think that a 172 would be good if your starting to grow and quite fast because the ski might not last long depending on how hard you ride. but if you arent growing to much i would say stick with a smaller ski

i really don't get the ns long ski fixation.
i don't go short, but shit, the girl up there, 5 1, on 172's, thats bats IMO

my ski lengthes depend on the use... my jib skis are 178, cap construction, flexible... my pipe are 183 with sidewall stiffer

i'm 6'4 175ish

so my skis are shorter than me, but not by too much

i used to be on 185 walls for part of this season but that broke :( binding tear out

im 5'8 and i ski 176 park skis. The thing is your height has nothing to do with what you ski. its all about your weight and style. I love longer skis and I ski very aggressively so 176 is perfect for me. You should demo different sizes and see what you like

I don't get the NS short ski fixation. I feel like everyday there's at least two threads made by people who are 5'8"+ and want to ski something shorter than 170.
Long skis give you stability. Yeah you might not be able to butter as easily and spinning on/off rails may be a little harder, but what you'll gain seriously overpowers the inconvenience of getting used to a longer ski. You be able to take landings deeper, ski faster, and generally land things easier. It's more material to land on. Especially with park skis...symmetrical construction and mounting true center makes skis ski way shorter than they are anyway.
I'm 5'9" and I ski a 181 in the park, 183 in pow. Going down to a 177 this year (afterbangs) but ill probably still take my 181 moments out for jump sessions.
