50 years old, 50 ft cliff

I've seen a couple threads about getting old lately. STFU.

Guy Jones is my new ski buddy and I'm kinda sad he just went back to Spokane. He also shreds harder than you on two wheels.

stompy (8 beers deep)

people are mistaken. It is not age necessarily that is the #1 factor, it is age combined with body type. For example, I have a build like a wrestler, not a twig gymnast like most of you. When I was younger I did the same dumb things and had horrible bails that hurt, but I would walk away fine. Now I am 29 but have put on some weight and even bails on small 15 ft tables hurt really bad and can put me out for a day. The guy who dropped that cliff may be 50, but he is built like gumby.
That being said, I am really impressed. I hope I can still run a mile when I am 50, much less drop cliffs.

that's in the amphitheater at snowbird. it may not quite be 50 but it's not to far off, definitely 40+. look up oakley white-allen's run that got him third place in the comp this year, stomped pretty much the same hit.

and that shit is 50' from takeoff to landing, not rock face.

hes not standing up straight, id give it 5ft max and you measured to his landing not the cliff and you measured from above his takeoff.

so 5-6 skiers x 5' = 25-30ft cliff that he took about 35-40ft. 50 ft is definitely pushing it

haha. you think you've got me but you don't.

first, look where he took off again (pretty sure I nailed the frame).

yeah he's not perfectly straight, but notice that the skier measurement has just a tick of room above and below him to account for this. it's ~6'.

Guy stomped this earlier in the season when he had to take it bigger anyhow.

Shooting stuff from below always makes it look smaller I find, especially with a straight on angle like this. The cliff is definitely around 40-50 feet, but no real way to tell without a tape measure. Either way this guy is a champ.

love the aggressive 4 pt stomp! props for that! i plugged it into my official cliff meter gauge though and it measures

11.276 meters, or 37 feet.

I want to by that guy at the local resort who is just there killing it everyday. I know a guy who is 76 still going pretty solid on moguls. Then theres another guy thats in his late 50's that we see dropping decent sized cliffs in the back woods.

Definately a huge inspiration for my didication to the sport of skiing

Old dudes who kill it are sick. It TOTALLY destroys the question "Oh yeah? Well what are you going to do when you're 50?!"

The answer is, Kill shit.

Also, we have a 40 year old who can drop 30 footers, and he seems to get better every year haha.
