50 50 Slide

This question may well prove to be my downfall, but here goes...

In skate and snowboard, the 50 50 on a rail is a perfectly legit grind. Now why do I never see a skier do them [on boxes]? Are they just not considered cool or what? I find a 50 50 to 180[or more] out is really fun. Indeed, I consider my best jib to be a switch 50-50 to sw 3 out... I've never seen anyone else do this- any reason why?
 
Personally i'm not impressed AT ALL when boards do them on any rail... When skiiers do them on boxes I feel about the same, but when I see a skier do them on a high up rail (rainbow, higher flat) or whatever, thats defentially alot more BALLSY
 
whats it called when boarders do a kinda nose or tail butter in their 5050s- i think that looks ill. seriously though, why is a 5050 any different from a normal railslide?
 
snowboarders 50-50ing anything in the park is lame, unless its a handrail or a C or S, its not even a trick.
 
what i saw that really looked goood though was a one foot 50 50 to rail slide on a flat down RAIL in the retrospect trailer
 
no matter how gay you say they are, theres no way you can diss DC's 50-50 on the huge Aspen rainbow in forward. that was fucking amazing
 
not a big fan of 5050s, or switch 5050s, you could always pop into nosepress and tweak it to the side, so it kind of looks like a crook?

For all you skiers that call noseslides nosepresses, that might be confusing.
 
i realy like a 5050 to normal on flat down rails with a spin off. thats my steeze. 5050s are legit on boxes if you put your steeze into it, with possibly a bit of a press in there.
 
if you throw 5050's on skis you got balls cuz it's really hard. but sweet only on certain rainbows flat downs wen you change to slide on down and on flat long rails./
 
on boards its easier but on fuckin skis man...5050 is so hard on rails. cause you need to go one foot. hit a rainbow rail fast, 5050 - launch a shift 180 over the backside. hellyes
 
i hate it when snowboarders do a 50 50 and think there so sick. theres no skill on a snowboard 5050ing a rail. you just fricken ride on
 
a 5050 isn't a grind it is a continuation of riding on snow and it rarely looks good a 1 footed 5050 o skis is okay but only when done properly.

me and another kid were doing 270 on-s/w to 50-50 s/w to right foot slide an d alot of other tech cool looking stuff on a dfd box and it may not have been super steezed but it was def. legit
 
its not fun first of all and second of all it looks so insanely gay. but i dont have a problem with wat ppl wana do in the park as long as there not skating thru and hitting the lips of rails
 
I like doing 5050 to switch 5050 on a flat down box. But yeah, just riding straight across a box is about as hard as riding straight across snow.
 
45 year old skiiers and little kids 50-50... i guess its not that bad, as long as u CAN slide if u wanted to...
 
I have respect for all people until they do something to lose my respect and unless a border is doing a press 5050 then 5050 are gay on a box for skiers I feel the same way
 
so what's the diff between a 50-50 and a railslide exactly. I've always thought they were the same things.

50-50 is just straight sideways right?
 
i think a lot of people have little respect for 50 50s cause sometimes like three year old skiers 50 50 and if a park skier is doing the smae trick as a three year old racer its just embarasing to our sport
 
ok, so i see why a straightforward 50 50 is lame, but a switch 5050 is distinctively newschool so isn't that legit? like in my park, my favourite jib is a 15 foot kinda up box thing which give you plenty of air at the end. i like to hit it fast, sw 5050 it to sw 3 out. would you not think that looked cool if you saw that?

whatever anyway, i think its fun
 
BS 50-50 on a round handrail is pretty hard... I think 50-50 are sick if done right...
 
so true, 50-50's suck. there are so many cool things to do an rails and boxs that you should never ever find your self thinking, Why dont i try going straight on then off again.
 
5050 a rail is really gay. i don't consider it as doing that rail cuz its so easy

its ok on rainbows or w.e and its fine if you add something, like a one-footer while grabbing the other ski
