5 years old kids who wanna get sponsors ??????WTF

OK Right ...I just wanted get a point here...

It's maybe just me but it seems that recently I saw a lot of kid's sponsormevids with like no good tricks but the only fact that they were like 3 year old was their main SKILL ...

SO ...It not because you are 10 years old and that you are able to spin pencil 7s that a company will hook up you ...

POINT ...

it's just funny how they all seem to beleive in that shit and that most of the time it's like their older brother who thinks that his lil bro will turn pro with the vid he shot this winter ....Just makes me laugh ...

well being good at a young age does matter. But really the main thing sponsors are looking for is publicity. Most little kids aren't gonna go to big competitions or anything

most kids try and get sponsered and they don't even compete

get results at the opens and reps will look more into you than if you say i ski the park at my local hill all year.

and clearly 5 year olds aren't gunna win the us open sooo
 
sponsorships arent because your good for your age, and you dont need them because you are "good". companies sponsor you because you are valuable, you have the potential to represent their shit. you compete or put out film segments that many people see. you also have alot of influence within your area. Now, the people that need sponsors are those which could not pay for all their stuff. If i was rich, i would not choose to be sponsored. its way easier to go out there and buy your stuff and get whatever you want, but thats if you are rich. Gear for a 5 year old doesnt cost much, gear for an older skier who travels alot for comps and filming and who tears their shit apart needs a sponsor. Nothing that i said about what sponsors want or the reason for a person wanting sponsorship pertain to a person younger than like 10. sure itd be cool to have a 5 year old sponsored, bragging rights and whatnot, but its not marketable (unless your reading like a women's magazine or something) and just totally unnecessary

Age does matter to some degree....just not much.

yea the goal of being sponsored is to benifit the company, not you. so companies sponsor kids who win comps or at least are in comps, who are in movies, and go to a bunch of different mountains. Its business
 
I have seen some really really good kids that are under age 10 but thats really good for their AGE not skill in general
