5 years old, doing 540..

This is pretty crazy and everything. But, it's super strange. The kid is obviously being trained and groomed by his parents or a coach to be a park skier. I mean, a lot of people on here, myself included were brought into skiing by our parents (thanks mom!). It's not like he's ever made a conscious decision to start skiing, or knows anything but skiing. A lot of kids are introduced to skiing by their parents and then decide that they really like it, or that they want to try to ski park. This kid has parents that bring him to the ski hill and park what looks like 25+ times per season. Lucky kid!

There is nothing wrong with that, I just find it very strange. I doubt the kid even has the capacity to choose music for his edit or find it online. Can he even read yet? When I was five, I wish I was watching ghostbusters and then going out to my backyard tramp to do backflips and then coming in for peanut butter cookies and apple juice.

I think their whole family do ski. His Kelly Sildarus little brother. But i also belive he enjoys it as much as we do! 5 years old, mabye he likes the song, or his parents does! Spelling, 5 years old, i worked in a kindergarden, kid is lucky if he could spell his name! some talent for sure! wish i knew about skiing when I was that young!

i was getting into gymnastics and tae kwon do by my own free will around that age so i don't think it's that strange.

C'one, i mean this kid is really good because he's five, but this "repertoire" is the MINIMUM required to claim yourself a freeskier. But maybe you're right, 50% NS's don't match this level.

I doubt this kid can even get on the chairlift by himself. I'd be willing to bet at least 66% of Newschoolers can do that!

would be awesome to have that low center of gravity.

off topic. Anyone know any midget park skiiers?

My sister is 7 and I actually can't really imagine her 2 years younger stomping this stuff, so yeah: "but he's 5"

i watch it and go 'a five year old is that good? shit i need to step my game up' and i try new shit the next time i ski.

This was awesome until I realized that a 5 year old is throwing steezier front two's than me at 2:17.

Still crazy though, think of how big even the little features would feel at 5 years old!

well that happens to me to at first but then i realize if they are already doing 540's then i will never have a chance against them if they where my age

I feel a little jealous because I had his level like 4/ 5 years ago, and he's only 5 and I'm like "what the fuck is he gonna stomp in 5,6,7 years ? Basically at 13 years old.. the age I started freestyle"

But please don't go mad on the word jealous, I see you guys coming. He has a luck I didn't have, that' life.

it's definitely when you ride around with an american flag and scream "FREEDOM" as you drop cliffs and huck dubs

Never, ever, ever underestimate the intelligence and mental capacity of a kid. This is what leads people to become parents that 'just don't get it'.

I have a kid that is less than two years old that can grab the iPhone/iPad off of the table, bring it to the couch, unlock it, navigate iOS to where his little game apps are located, launch the app and then move shapes into holes on screen where they're supposed to go.

20 months old.

Kids are intelligent as fuck even at a super young age. We were too, we just like to get old and think kids are dumb.

i think its awesome to see someone this young killing it! There are some kids at stratton this little who do the same. Its awesome. Why would you hate on this? NS, grow up.

Actually not. he is super sick and loves skiing. His parents don't push anything on Him or Kelly. When they lap the park with us, he just rides with the grom team and does his own thing, he gets coaching from kids that are like 10 years old, that's it. All the tricks he's learned has been from kids his age or his sister. Kelly actually is always by his side helping him out.

I rode the lift up with his mom and we kinda talked about that, that everyone thinks they push their kids into it and that they have no choice but to ski. They choose to, and always have the final say on everything. It's really cool actually. They are just super sick people.

Once he hit's puberty he's going to fall off. His voice isn't going to hold up.

Oh wait, I thought I clicked on the MJ thread.

Sick little kid! Good stuff. Kids are awesome. Just how stoked they are to ski/ride. It's just an awesome vibe to be around.
