I LOVE seeing little kids kill it. I saw a little boarder at Stowe throw a cork 5 the other day. It was off a small jump and he died pretty hard, but I went over and helped him up and gave him a big ole high five. It's great to see kids progressing.
As for the kid who said you will never ski well outside the park if you're not taught the proper way...you're pretty much in no position to talk. I took a half a lesson when I was a kid and haven't been "coached" by anyone since. I've always ridden with boarders so I have basically had no help. I think I ski pretty damn well for figuring it all out on my own and by watching others. I've skied backbowls, chutes, cliffs, and everything like that in CO and UT and I didn't have any help. So yeah, it is possible to sort of teach yourself to be good. Sorry for the claim rant, but I had to show you that it is possible to learn on your own.
