of course not, canadians are too stupid to realize that 1 gallon= 3.75 liters or something. americans during katrina were up in arms when they had to pay 2.50 for a gallon. fuck we were up to 1.20 and that would be in excess of 3.40 per gallon. but nooo, we just take the ass raping no one says anything.

 
i hate americans always bitchin about gas prices, like ^ said, americans complain when gas went over $2/gallon. that is ridiculous, when we in canada have been paying $1.20+ for a while now...final the american price is actually catching up

I see what you mean...it better not increase..we can survive off alberta's oil for years..the damn oil prices are only rising b/c of the stupid offshore US rigs in the gulf, and the damn hurricanes. Gas and oil are and have been rising for a while. we sure better find some more efficient ways of running vehicles.

and of course its going to go up, isn't it pretty damn obvious by now that our prices fluctuate when american prices fluctuate. anyways what we really need to find out is how much tax is on american gas compared to canadian. then take the tax away and see how much is strictly for the actual oil and not for the government to spend on road repairs.

don't be fooled that the rising gas prices mean a shortage of oil. there is enough for now. it is going up because the price of refining it is getting more expensive (drilling in remote oil fields or mountainous areas with vast oil resovoirs) and they can't keep up with the output becaose opec only lets so many barrels made per day.

hell the tar sands in alberta are going to be a huge source of oil in the next many years and pretty soon alberta is going to be income tax free.

as a comparison, a friend of mine is considering selling his 1.8 litre nissan cos petrols just too damn expensive.

what you have to realize is that the american government doesnt charge the taxes that every other european country does. if you look at the prices without taxes they are all within mere cents of each other. european governments charge double or even triple the taxes that the US does

i just got gas today for $2.78. i figured i better fill up before it goes up aagiain. but im pretty much fucked either way . i gotta drive a half hour to school everyday..then a half hour home . and my bike got stolen so i gotta drive to work too. oh ya. and my company just told me that they cant give me any hours anymore cuz they cant afford it. yupp. im fucked.

I ride a trek XO1 cyclocross bike whenever I can. I only ride it to places that I can bring it in with me. The local stores let me bring it in most of the time and park it behind the customer service counter. I still lock the wheels to the frame when I leave it.

I dont trust anybody anymore.
