Hey NS, it has come that time to go car shopping again, and I'm seeking for some advice on a car.

I have about 8k in the budget and want a sporty sedan.

I don't think I can find a Wrx that I can trust, and have been looking at cars such as

- Mazda 6

- Cadillac CTS

- civic si

- Lexus is300

If you guys have any advice or experience with this type of range it would be greatly appreciated

Thanks NS!

In CT, come and get.

44 in. boggers, 6in lift and 3in body lift

Oh wait that's not a car...

I drive a Dodge charger and I've had a lot of girls tell me it's a really sick car. (Never had a girl say that about a car to me before) My friend drives a lifted Ford Bronco that he goes off roading in all the time never been complimented by a girl.

Toyotas are champs. If you maintain a yota (or any other car for that matter) properly, you can EASILY get 225k+ miles. This includes washing it, yes washing it, brake changes, oil changes every 5k miles or so, coolant every 3 years, sealant every 3 years. Toyotas have stupendous reliability though, I have an 02 tacoma and love the thing.

Well where I'm from the girls you do want dig the big trucks. More so than your average 4 door car.

Audi allroad/A6 i know there not reliable but they are soo nice and great for winter

BMW x3/x5

subies too impreza or wrx maybe sti

if you got the gas money. 1st gen durango 1998-2003, with the 5.9 liter V8, just sold mine and bought a dakota, but i sold that D with 240000 K and i still see her driving round town almost every day. but for real , that was the best outdoor, car camping, ski car camping , ski vehicle ever. like i said , such good cars, just gota have that gas cash !

Definately a toyota truck or 4runner. They'll run forever and look a hell of a lot better than some dumb little ricer lesbaru

I did a quick auto trader search for vw's. You can pretty much get a 2000-2004 ish jetta, passat, or golf with about 100k on it for your price range. This is what I did on my last car. They are usually pretty bomb proof to about 200k. This is when my last 2 vws bit the dust. The engines were fine on both actually it was just everything else that didn't make economic sense to fix. Anyway the insurance is cheap, the gas mileage is awesome, the front wheel drive will get you to the mountain.

i thought about buying an older audi allroad...you can find them for under 10k, but of course maintenance is gonna have its way with you eventually

If your in the USA a volvo is not the way to go... my friend had a cracked headlight that cost 2k to replace. Shipping parts from Sweden isn't cheap

For $8000 a honda in good condition is a nice call. Don't go with american made. The Lexus is probably in shitty condition if it's $8000. Look at Mitsubishi, you could probably get one in good condition for under 8.

yea i often drive a 240 wagon and even though they "last forever" according to a ton of people they start to blow after around 140k which is around the time my parents got it the throttle response is shit and the plus side of the car is its fun in the snow and very very loose dirt

Agreed^

Also, you could probably get a nice VW for under $8000. Just a thought, German cars are also quite reliable, more expensive to fix though.
