Hey guys I am looking for some sweet 4x4 cars...the only two i know of thus are are the Lada Niva and the VW gold country.
I know there are other things like subarus and 4x4 toyota tercels, but i am looking for more burly cars.
So i was wondering if anyone knew of any other sorta collector like cars such as the niva or country?
Thanks for the heelps!

VW GOLF R32. sick as fuck

I have an 02' TDI which is almost as sick

yah i bet that thing gets sick offroad performance with huge wheels on low-pro's that afford you about half an inch of clearance from your wheel wells...

there's a BIG difference between locking hub 4x4's and AWD cars. AWD works wonders while you're driving, but if you get stuck where one front and one rear tire can spin freely it may be worthless.

With VDC but it's still not the same as true 4x4. 4x4 is a 50/50 split. The closest a subaru can come to that is locked in first (Auto only) and reverse. That's with my first gen outback. I don't know if the new one have that.

Hmm. My dad was telling me about a button you push that locks everything up. I haven't tested it out yet.

4 Easy Steps to have a 4x4 car:

1- Buy a used Civic

2- Buy a used civic engine (D16 stock preferably)

3- Somehow manage to install the engine in your trunk, and connect a driveshaft to your back wheels

4- Enjoy your 4x4 300whp Civic! :)

its a sweet car, and it probably does amazing in snow, but he wants something tough, with that thing you hit a pothole and you have a bent rip, you gotta watch out for the bumpers and sideskirts cause they are so low. what he needs is something like i said an older audi or outback, cause both are tough as shit, and another car to add, a 325ix. its such an awesome car, its an e30 3 series with awd, almost suv ground clearance, tougher than any audi or subaru, and performs better on snow too. there was a test with the ix against an audi and a subaru i think and it outperformed them both on everything in snow. they designed the awd to match perfectly with the weight distribution under acceleration, rather than when stopped. so it gets the most traction possible under acceleration, where with a subaru or audi, the to torque split is somewhere around 50/50 so under acceleration, the tires arent getting the best possible traction. plus theres nothing cooler to see than some old beemer beating audis and subaru's in the snow.

I'm talking full 4x4 locking hubs.
Other stuff more similar to this ( mind you this one is heavily moded)

I know you ask why don't i just get a truck then....but i've owned a lot of trucks and i am looking for something more unique, smaller, but still equally capable.
I am also considering making whatever i get run off wood gas or veg oil if it is deisel.

I'd like to see where you get your facts.

AND FOR THE RECORD THAT IS A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 4x4's WITH LOCKING DIFFERENTIALS AND CARS WITH AWD!

Seriously stop telling him to get an Audi or a Suby or a awd BMW or anything else. I drive a Subaru WRX and I love it, and the AWD kills it in the snow, even better with good snow tires. However, there is still a big difference between AWD and 4x4.

Both those cars aren't worth it either even if he is looking for awd. Look at a VW or a Suby. It's worth it to pay a little extra and get a way way nicer car.

yeah for sure audi...
