Yeah, I know. All the camera whore nerds on DVX user are practically jizzing in their pants as "insiders" post in the thread about it. Im not gonna get my hopes up, whatever comes out comes out, if its tight for me then cool, if not then im fine with what I have.

As an fs100 owner, I was pretty mad that the firmware update was pushed back. I'm interested in the new camera coming out, but I'm even more interested in the fs100 upgrades

very interesting. I wonder how much it will cost to have 4k? like another $2-3k for the recorder?

Some cool specs too, really blowing any other camera out of the water right now. This gives me about a half chub about the fs100 firmware update.

1080p 120 and 240. solid. at 24mpbs thought, it could get a little stretched? thoughts?

overall, this new camera is going to be a game changer. And seeing how its not april fools day anymore, i am taking this information as truth. unless this is some very very mean joke that sony is playing, then i might cry.

Sounds sick. Wish I had a budget to work with, though I suppose don't we all?

fs100 firmware update would be sick though. Any ideas what it would be?

well right now, its mostly in menu kinda stuff like expanded focus, ability to store picture profiles (up to 99 apparently according to this new info), iso or db option, 50p/60p 24p/25p aka 50hz 60hz switchable, and some other new stuff hopefully. I know that fps is all internal and has to do with the sensor/processor and im assuming the fs700 will have a very similar, if not the same sensor and such because fuck its only been like 8 months since the fs100 was released, so i doubt they have a whole new deal going. Potentially, if they can do frame rate, fs100s could do 120/240 at 1080p, which would be sick. I wish i could somehow have nd filters installed ha

Yeah, I agree with Evan. However I just need to keep telling myself that it's all about the composition and lighting. The fs100 produces a beautiful image and it's going to be paid for an more in the next two months. I just hope this doesn't affect the resale value too much.

FS100 is still one hell of a camera guys, don't worry. I've seen great stuff from it, the noise at high sensitivity is so amazing, and the emount is a lens mount I wish I had. Sure the FS700 has some features that the fs100 lacks (soo glad they listened and included ND filters, for one thing), but most of the fs100 users have discovered work arounds and have still created great images with the camera.

This is really the only thing these new releases are going to effect. It should go without saying that 8K won't make your videos better, but resale woes are the bane of techies such as ourselves.

It's a buzzkill. I'm now interested in seeing what the firmware update for the fs100 will include. We know the basics, just curious to see if they will add something to the firmware to help hold the value of the fs100 since canon and panasonic MAY introduce something new.
