4frnt vs Salomon 1080

i have never ridden either. that being said i have only heard great things about the 4frnts. they are a core company which is one major reason to go with them. with the 1080's i heard the foam core looses its life in a few weeks. also, saloman is not core at all. would you rather support a company who truly understand their customers or a company who sells hiking shoes?

i ride the 1080s and they're pretty good for me cuz i'm pretty much lighter and they're flexy

4frnt, even though they are more expencive they have a better warenty(sp?), and your suporting a rider owned ski company........and the skis seem to ski awsome from what i hear, especaly compared to the 1080

 
dont base ur decision on wheather the company is core or not. ride both skis, see what ya think. itll be hard to find some demo 4frnts tho. the 1080s are a fun ski, cheap too.

they are like two different skis...

1080- soft flex, foam core, pretty light, 80mmm waist for 181cm

msp - stiff flex, wood core, light, 92 mm waist fpr the 180cm

someone posted that there warranty is kick ass, i do not have any dealer close to me, so would i jsut send them in if i had any problems or what?

 
i've rode both, and the salomons are a fun ski in the park, and i thought they were awesome in moguls because they're so soft they're almost bouncy, but they aren't that stable if you go fast at all. frnt's are just titties with hard nipples though, they kick ass

4frnt, you dont want a foam core like those on the salomons.

i really am confused as to why everyone consistently bashes salomon. they're not 'core'? they were a major player in getting this thing we call freeskiing going somewhere. they were one of the first companies to mass produce a twin tip ski and one of the first companies to make a fat twin tip ski. as far as comparing the skis to 4frnt's, i have both. 1080's are probably the best all around skiing twin tip on the market except for the public enemy's. they make a much shorter turn than 4frnt's do. they are also a lot softer of a ski. and as far as durability goes, i've put probably close to 100 days on my 1080's and the worst damage is some cracked edges. in my opinion, thats not too bad

4frnts rule, they dont break, they are great in the park and in powder, skiing or landing in it... Salomons just break, go 4frnt

4frnts are horrible, 1080s are so good at high speeds, never fall apart and salomon supports newschool so much i mena come on 1080s all the way especially since they are shinny, bling bling man
