4frnt VCT vs. Seth Vicious

I am thinking about getting some VCT's in a 182 or some vicious in 189. I have skied green pistols in 189 everyday for awhile, and before that skied explosives in 190. I'm not that much of a park guy, pretty much just ski the steeps all day, go in the park occasionally, although a bit more this year since Mammoth has so little snow. I've skied the vicious in 189 and love them, much better than the pistol, but I am still thinking about a VCT or Gotama in 183. I'm not that much of a quiver guy, I usually just ski one ski all the time. My question on the VCT is how stable it is in 182 when pointing it. For you squaw guys, think extra or tube chute when the snow is a little hacked up. I know the VCT's will kill in powder, and at 182 they will probably be fun to swing around in steeps, but I don't know about holding a good straightline with them. I've only pointed stuff on explosives or pistols in the 190 range, so I don't have expierience with testing the stability of something 183 and around 105 under foot. I've always imagined that if the skis are stiff enough it should be fine, just never done it. How much of an upturn is their to the tail of the VCT? Is it enough that it significantly decreases the running length and makes the ski unstable when pointing it? If they made it in 185 or 186 that would be perfect. I don't know about a 190, it might be just a bit much to swing around at 105 underfoot. The vicious are fine in tight steeps in 189, I just don't know if a 190 VCT/Gotama would be too much work as something to ski everyday and ski tight stuff with. Any of you guys that ski VCT's or Gotama's in 182 or 190, would love to hear what you guys think, particularly if you've also skied vicious/pistols. Whatever I get I will probably ski everyday, mostly at Mammoth, with the pistols being rock skis.
 
Both the VCT and the Gotama (last years and this years) ski straighter than the Vicious and are both stiffer than the Vicious making both of them better for straighlining right?

And if you've skied explosives in a 190 you definitely want a 190 Gotama/VCT. The Explosiv is a half twin and skis longer than the Gotama/VCT with their full twins. You'll notice a big difference going from a 189 pistol down to a 182/183 VCT/Gotama. Personally I would go for the Gotama because I still hear that 4frnt's build quality is questionable.
 
I ski a 182 VCT, and they seem to hold well for straight lines, even through hacked snow. But keep in mind Im only 150 pounds. Also, the VCT is a full twin
 
ull prob find the vicious nicer in the park but out of the park the vct kills and i dont know bout the gotmas
 
go with the vct!!! I think it is better for pow than the seth´s. For jibbing in backcountry the vct will hld up very well!! The seth´s are more a big mountain ski.

I do prefer the Seths because it is more fun skiing them, i think the VCT turns a bit to slow, especialy if its getting steeper the Seth is more fun, but you can't do anything wrong buying one of those two skis, because they are both such nice skis. And always think of the K2-Quality!!!
 
^i believe 41.5 is the radius of the 193 EHP, which is a flat (camberless) ski.

27.6 is the radius of the 182 VCT, not the 190.

the radius on the 190 EHP (or 190 VCT whichever you prefer to call the ski) is something in the 29-31 range i think. and the 190 also has a twin where the 193 is either flat or half twin.
 
^Yup you've got it right. And the 193 doesn't really have a half twin or a flat back. Kinda both. With the bit of rocker back there its about the height of a half twin but its a slow rise about 6 inches long.
