Hey NSers I am thinking of getting a set of 177 STLs and I just wanted to know if anyone who had skied them could write a bit about what they thought. I also wanted to know what the recommended binding set up is. Like from true center.

Thnks ppl.

post in ski gear forum....btu i would also like to know i'm getting the 183

if you check www.4frnt.com theres reviews on the website..they are from all the pros so my guess they will be biased but check that out

Yeah i have checked the website and just wanted more reviews than the guy who actually made them. Also it doesnt say where the recommended binding setting is so thats why i was hoping someone with them could tell me.

you're riding 4frnt this year matt? what did nordica drop your ass?

anyway, they're a really fun ski. pretty soft (for my liking) but really fun. they turn really well and feel extremely lively. the one thing i really remember about them is that they absolutely ripped skiing switch. and when you landed switch it felt like you were on rails and went straight into a gangster carve every time you hit the snow. a good mounting point is dead center for park sliding or like an inch back if you want them to still shred all mountain. it's a pretty good overall ski for the midwest. i think you'll like them.

i love mine, theyre pretty light and ski really nice. i mounted mine true center and they perform just great.

they have a center line which i believe is dead center on the stl. i haven't seen this year's stl so it may be different but in years past there have always been multiple lines signifying different mounting options.

suggested mounting point is 5 cm back from true center, the ski was slightly stiffened this year also the top sheet this year is textured which reduces chipping by a lot, i love the skis personally

I had last seasons 183's and i thought they ripped. The best thing that I liked about mine were that the edges held in all season, which is a first for me considering I ride park almost exclusively. I also really liked the flex, not too soft not stiff, good happy medium which works great for me. Another great thing about the STL is that they can carve! I spent a bit of time out in Colorado with only one pair of skis and these turned out to be a real solid one ski quiver for groomers, a little bit of powder, and park. Even mounted at true center with edges detuned under foot they still managed to hold an edge well.
