4Frnt Shreddership

Lovin the idea.

Pity I don't have an edit from last season. Portfolio built up though. see what i can muster up

Working right now on my balance scale for College and ski (talking to my sponsor), not to stoked for less travelling, less skiing.

But kids, it'll be worth it, staying in school that is.

Anyone else having trouble opening the link? or just me?

This is such an awesome opportunity! Anyone in college should for sure take advantage of this. I would if I was old enough......

The deadline is the 15th of September. Here is the link, if you scroll to the bottom it shows the information.

I wish I was in college so I could take part in this!

Since some of you are having trouble with finding the link/ it won't open Thought that giving you direct access on how to enter will up the entries.

To apply:

Send your application (and any other written materials) along with a link to your Youtube or Vimeo video to

contests@4frnt.comThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

The deadline to apply is September 15, 2010 and the winner will be announce on or before October 15, 2010.

Since the contest page won't open on your site for me anymore, can you copy and paste the text onto here of what you want on the application? I remember seeing some things on there you wanted in the application such as GPA, but I don't have a way of seeing all the requirements anymore.

Yeah, sorry about that. We are upgrading our site and it's going down intermittently while we finish work on it.

Here are the questions. You can send the completed questions and a link (Youtube, Vimeo or NS) to contests@4frnt.com

Academic Questionnaire:

1.

What is your current major, and year in school?

2.

How are your grades?

3.

Describe your course of study, and what you are planning

to do after school.

4.

What makes you the best person to receive the

4FRNT Shreddership?

Video Details:

We require a video showing only your tightest shots from the

LAST season. We all have old footage that we are proud of but we are most

concerned in seeing your most recent skills. Some important points when

constructing your proposal are:

·

A diverse showing is encouraged, not all park,

not all big mountain.

·

No repeat shots please.

·

No super duper editing necessary.

·

If you are riding on 4FRNT, your chances will be

increased.

·

Must be academically responsible.

·

We encourage the video to be accompanied with a

written resume stating event placements, exposure and anything else you think

is important to a prospective sponsor.

Being in class during winter shouldn't be a requirement, i know tons of kids who kill it and they got good taking school off in the winter...

Sure, if it was Sponsorship contest not being judged on both academic/skiing abilities. I mean how can someone doing well at an unaccredited eduction institution be compared against someone studying medicine for example, it just doesn't work.

While it is true that many good skiers take this route through school, anybody deserving of this "shreddership" should not have that kind of flexibility in their course schedule.

We won't need any right away. If there is any question about an application, and it ends up as one of the top 4, we may ask for confirmation of enrollment, class schedule, etc.

yea but kids who are good and still manage to be scholarly all winter deserve it far more than kids who are fucking off without a care in the world for the season.

Son, your logic is great. I wish I could take winters off to ski, but my research is all about snow so that would pretty much fuck me.

Aaahh, I wish I had filmed this past winter. Definitely trying to film this winter.

Question: Do you really have to have park skiing in your edit? What if you're a strong, creative big mtn skier but hardly ski park at all, simply because it doesn't interest you? I mean, I ski some park when the weather/conditions aren't great, but it's by no means film worthy. I understand looking for a well balanced skier but park skiing shouldn't be a requirement (or vice versa for east coast skiers). I mean, you guys have Hojie on your team...

By no means do you have to have any park/ big mountain shots, but we are looking for the all around skier.... and the contest is tonight at midnight so get your entries in kids!

At last count we got in over 30 applications. We're sorting through all of them now, and are going to start the judging on Monday.
