will choose one college student to receive a full product sponsorship

for the 2010-2011 ski season. This person will be selected based on a

combination of academic performance, and skiing ability. Applicants will

submit both a written academic application as well as a “sponsor me”

video. Both will be weighted for 50% of your overall score.

These are the only requirements

  • Must

    be enrolled for both Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 semesters (or all three

    quarters) at an accredited University, College, Junior College or

    Community College
  • Must be a pass holder for the 2010-2011 season
  • Must be willing to abide by all terms of the 4FRNT sponsorship agreement

actually, damn, i'm screwed. i'd do fine on the academic part, but i literally filmed twice last season so i will basically have no edit.

hopefully this contest comes up again next fall! thanks 4frnt for doing it anyways, this is sick.
 
such an awesome idea, way to go 4frnt. Only suggestion I have is to make the deadline later or in the Spring so people can actually go film and edit for this purpose.

a well learned person would market your company so much better than some dumbass that can just throw dub 14s.
 
I am not in college, but I think this is the best thing a company can do. I had be thinking about Companies and if they even think about factoring in your academic skills toward a sponsorship. So I think this is a great opportunity for someone who needs some stuff for skiing but can't afford it because of college!
 
Yes, that's pretty unfair and not really a good reason to get better scoring. The whole concept is good, that was the one thing that I thought should be changed.
 
The extra points for riding 4FRNTs is a bonus for anyone looking to be sponsored, not just for the Shreddership. In fact, the video requirements are exactly the same for this as for all of the rest of our "sponsor me" requests.

The reason we have it in there is because as a sponsored athlete you are a representative of our brand. When we are looking for new people, it's always based on who we think is the best fit for our company specifically, and who will help us push our brand.

If someone is already riding 4FRNTs, then they are already representing us positively. Which takes a little bit of the guessing away.

That being said, we are always looking for the best riders, no matter what they ride. We aren't going to pass up the best talent, or choose anyone who is sub-par, just because of the skis they ride.
 
Also, to everyone asking about doing it next year:

We are giving this a trial run for this season, just to see how it goes, but there is no reason why we wouldn't keep doing it year after year if it's as successful as it appears it's going to be.

So even if you can't apply this year, let all your buddies who can know, and then you can try and get it next year.
