4FRNT Quality?

I've just recently fallen into some money and I am going to actually buy a solid pair of '07 skis instead of bargain hunting and I am looking at the '07 4FRNT VCTs and was wondering how solid 4FRNT skis are. I dont know anyone that has a pair and the testimonials I've searched for so far have come up with mixed results. Do they put out a sturdy durable product or are these going to break after like a season? I don't have tons of cash to throw into skiing and I don't really have a shop hook-up so I'd want these skis to last and so I was wondering how durable they are before I order them. I'm not like uber-aggressive and I'm not going to use these for urbans so they shouldnt get overly abused. Just normal all-mtn and park stuff. Thanks.
 
My bud has a pair of 05/06 MSP's and they have held up well. He skis semi aggressivly and mostly park/ no urban. The only major problem with them is that there is a massive gouge in the tip from where he ran int the door at the shop before he got them mounted. Basicly, 4FRNT is a solid company and hold up well on the hill but not to partial retardation.
 
4FRNT is okish quality, if you're not doing tons of rails (buy buying VCT's I assume you're not) and you make an effort not to smoke rocks they'll last for a few seasons.
 
I have heard they had some manufacturing problems last year with the option factory up in BC. This year they moved production over to europe, which is supposed to yield much better results. My Huntington Beach MSPs from 3 years ago are still holding up perfectly.
 
Yeah I have only seen one pair of 4frnts that got smashed up but they were first or second season MSP's I think. but other then that they seem to hold up well. the K2 vicous is also really durable if you do not mind a few top sheat chips. and they are a little softer then the vct's so keep that in mind if you want to chose between the two.
 
i havent been too impressed durability wise. i went through 3 pairs of stls before feb last year, (4frnt was really good about replacing them). and my amigos msps are about to die after just a month of riding.
 
i have a pair of new ARVs for sale if you are interested, would be better for all mountain and park than the VCT. the MSP would be a better option for you if you want 4frnt.
 
for the record, as someone who actually knows a thing or 3 about 4frnt, this is there most solid year since the start. for sure
 
4FRNT is BOMBPROOF

I have the MSP's from two years ago and I ride 100+days/year at a very rocky, extreame mtn. they have held up so well, no core shots, no ripped out edges and I ride all over the mtn. w/ them even urban, you can't go wrong
 
My 4frnt Experience,

I owned a pair of VCT's last year, and they pretty much became my everywhere ski, didnt really use them on rails, but all mtn and jumps on any sort of day. The skis at first were super sick, kinda stiff, but once i got used to them they were a blast, although if you care about cosmetics, i may reccomend looking elsewhere. I took the ski out and w/ in maybe 3 runs my topsheet was peeling from certain points on the outside of my ski, and the skis had only been on groomers at that point. They seemed to work great in powder, and were super fun everywhere i took them. After about half of the season(take into thought i got them in december) the ski started to dramatically soften up. The base of the ski is invincible, i skied crested butte numerous times hitting so many rocks and always being able to leave w/ minimal base damage usually just a scratch if that! hits that gave my k2's coreshots. In March the ski gave out on me when i was straightlining from the top of peak 7 at breck, and broke. Yes i was going fast, and i was slightly dissapointed that ski broke while i was skiing down. W/ out falling at the end of the run i looked down to notice my tip was bent up. So i dialed 4frnt and they got me a pair of this years for cost, which is kind of a bitch, but is better than pay full price for it again. Super sick ski, would highly reccomend it, unless you are super concerned about looks of your skis
 
AHAHAHA! That was priceless. But seriously dude, I think if you want an uber nice ski that will hold up for a long time, 4FRNT's aren't bad, but they aren't superb either, there are better skis out there, check out the Volkl Gotama, and if you can afford it, Kingswood makes amazing skis.
 
so this yr's 4frnts are supposed to hold up better than last yr's cuz my buddy had an 06 pair and he liked them at first and by mid season they weren't holding up that great anymore...and i like this yrs graphics and what not but i'm not guna go out and buy a ski just because it has sick graphics that might help me make a decision but can't base a decision upon that. So whats everyones opinions on the 07's?
 
Thanks for all the input. Kind of mixed signals here, but I think I am going with the VCT. I have roughly $500 to spend and some of the other suggestions are out of my price range but if anyone would suggest anything else (ex. Chronic?) thatd be great. Thanks again.
 
prophet 100s are sick, saying as Line had no durability issues with any ski not named the invader. that or some moships, howdy23 has a pair for sale.
