so, who else is having problems with their 4frnts holding up? mine have a core shot from my accident, but also, the letters are coming out of the base (would this be covered by warranty?).

they use a snowboard press, i know this because i ski with b and sterbenz and he was telling me about the construction. its not a big deal really, but i preffer skis that are pressed in a ski press they use more pressure and make it more durable

when they began making skis they used a snowboard press. the very first year they made demos. not anymore dude

they dont use a snowboard press. a snowboard press is not long enough for the size of skis 4FRNT uses. and sorry i dont think you can get that warranteed because a letter peeling off isnt too big of a deal. and that core shot is from you hitting a rock right?

did anyone notice the cut in the ptex right before the letter? your skis aren't holding up because you fucked them up. look at the pictures closely and the damage is caused by the skier, no the company.

the cut was cause because of the sidewall beside the letter (red) is above the letter (white) and it got caught on a rock.

plus, even if the letter was ripped up because of that cut, wouldnt the cut be centered where the letter is pulling out?

my skis are delaming under the boot. whole base is coming apart from the top of the ski. you can see right into the core from above the edge

looks like it's caused by a rock to me. When the rock hit the letter though it pushed part of it out. If you return that, you are lame. Just shave that shit flat, fill the gaps with liquid hot p-tex and go skiing

 
normally those letter shouldnt be a problem.

I think you can easily fix it by putting a new p-tex piece after cutting of a piece of the letter.

they might get that shit under warranty but normally I think you should go to a ski or snowboard shop and get a good p-tex job done

you always take a risk when buying from homegrown companies like 4frnt...

unfortunately the big companies are usally a better call for both durablity and customer support...

it sucks that you have to go through a rep or a pro for wrranty issues...you would think that it would be your shops problem not theirs...

ski reps get the funniest phonecalls from skiers bitching about product and warrnties...my housemate just puts them on speaker phone and we laugh when some civilian calls up what is supposed to be a private number only to bitch about his new PEs breaking after hitting a rock or banging on rails...

the truth is that you can't make a ski that holds up to rocks and huge peicies of steel over and over again without a scratch, expecting that is just stupid

no, its a lot worse that it looks in the pics, and i dont even have pics of some of the problems. the sidewall is smashed in on one ski from where i the tree when i had my accident. the edge is starting to split away fromt he ski, but its barely noticable at all so in not worried, and the topsheet was peeling up on the nose, but i superglued that shit down. all in all, i think they need to work out some kinks

im on my third pair of STLs they are cool about my warranty my shop just gave me pairs and the base and core was separating from the sidewall so they kinda suck. but they used to ski good
