aight, im gettin new skis this week and am torn between the 4frnt tnk's with deadbolts or the line anthems with deadbolts. im not spectacular on rails but want something thats light enough to spin on and off and do some sw ups but i also love skis with a solid base so i can land some big air stuff to. dont want anything too buttery but enough to be able to screw around on. what you think?
 
i'm 5'10 and 140, how wuld the TNK's be for me, are they light and dubbed for rails? i'v heard that the edges pop off on them, are they better now?
 
i would go with the 4frnts, Lines seems to fall apart more often. I will say I am not a fan of deadbolts, I find them not durable, they seem cheaply made.
 
I have 180 TNKs and they are a lot of fun. They are stiffer than the anthems, and are more stable. the anthems are a little more buttery, but the TNKs work fine. the TNKs will also be more stable on landings, and bombing hills.
 
i dont think lines fall apart anymore... i dont know what was goin on in like 05-06 when they had a bunch of skis delaminate, but i think it was a factory thing, most of which was covered by warranty. i havnt read a bad review about a line ski in a few years..... has anyone else had a problem with lines?
 
I have anthems and they are super durable. Ive taken hits that would have been core shots on my scratch ghettos that didn't phase my lines. The edges are thick and the top hasn't started peeling once yet after 20 days at the mtn. If you taller and lighter, im 5'7 150, i see how a higher center of gravity would make them seem softer then they do to me. And they stay relatively stiff laterally when im charing back country, just don't throw any weight back and forth expecting them not to flex.
 
get chronics. stiffer than anthems (which are pretty soft), but you can still butter them. also they're cheaper than the 4frnts, more durable than either (stiffer skis hold up better), and lines warranty policy is the best around.
 
yeah, i got a pair of old chronics now the origionals and there way too small for me but still super fun. and rei has chronics for ridiculously cheap right now too. so im thinking about getting a pair for this summer. but i do love my tnk's there way sick.

However, evogear has em for 299, there is this other site selling them for 299, and if you found them for cheaper somewhere theyll beat that price by 20 bucks.

also, evogear is selling the 05 chronics for 179..

And man, the choice your making is between sticking landings, or buttering like no other. its one or the other unfortunately. anthems have the butter zome, and sick for rails. while the chron and tnks are solid on landings, but not nearly as good for buttering. im in the same situation right now, but between anthems and chronics...
 
I used to be a line hater until i tried the anthems. the 93 waist park ski is the best idea ever (cept maybe the lizzy) They are really light, (i had trouble spinning with tail grabs for a bit because they were so whippy in the air) and very stable on landings. if you land back seat a ton you will wash out, but don't land back seat. the extra platform on them has saved my ass a few times. They aren't as soft as you might think they would be, but they are grossly fun. The bases and edges have held up to base so far, and I've even skied waist deep pow, and they actually did ok for center mounted skis. I would recomend these to any park rat, who likes to ski also. They aren't a charging ski, but they'll get you through any jump line, and they def. rock for rails. I skied fischer addicts before these, and basically stopped skiing them because they just weren't my favorite, but the anthems are versatile enough for most days on the hill, and like i said, they sleigh park.
