hmmm, thats odd. what da phuck are you skiing on, rocks?

As with any brand new ski, you must be careful with them if you want to keep the bottoms in good shape. I have skied about 12 days on mine and I put one decent gash in them from a rock, but it's nothing that serious. I wax them before i go skiing though which helps alot to protect your bases. the bases seem pretty strong to me.

Fuck man, either your mountain has no snow or you havent been waxing them enough. In all reality though, they are going to get beat up.

You ARE skiing down a fucking mountain you know...keep your eyes peeled for rocks.

Has anyone ski Bear Paw Ski Bowl? Fun place to ski lots of rocks and icy kickers

i have hot waxed them twice in the 5 times ive gone. i have a dent like and inch long, a huge ass scratch/gash from almost tip to tail (from hitting rocks in the pow im guessing), i went off a table today adn since so many people had used it the landing had a huge like dent i guess you could say, or ditch, so i landed in that and for some reason i got another fucked up thing on the base of my ski, its like a dent but it all got scratched around, its really deep too, i can see some like core or something. i dont know, it kinda sucks. but i have so many gashes in them already. i have been skiing a lot of powder since i live in Colorado. i hope they dont totally get fucked.

whoa, thats weird. a gash from tip to tail, holy jesus!!!??

I would get some ptex and try to fix them as best as you can. and then cover that shit with mad wax. It sounds like your mountain might not have much of a base underneath the snow.

my reccomendation would be to wax them everytime before you go skiing. It honestly helps protect so much. Plus it seems like the bases dont hold wax all that well. Especially if you ski hard all day.

I have been as careful as i can though with mine and usually check out shit before i just rip through it.

well, i dont want to pay 5-8 bucks for a waxing every time. i dont have an iron that i can screw up to wax my own skis

dude i bought my iron for $6 at wal mart no one should ever pay for a wax job on their skis unless it's free......i hope my msp's dont' have that problem, but either way i'm waiting for about another foot of base (and my wide brakes to get here) before i take them out, i'll just destroy my fischers until there's enuf snow

i have 1 line (not big gash) from a rock on the cirque. A few little scratches here and there... but no more than usual...
