4FRNT Hoji In-Bounds

Hey all, looking to add to the quiver more this season. Right now I'm at:

181 Kartel 106 w/ FKS180, 184 Candide 4.0 w/ Attack16, 174 Steeple 112 w/ Beast16, 160 Course TI w/ PX15.

I'm looking for something wider maybe 105-115 and directional. This'll be used 90% in-bounds and occasionally slack-country. I have the Steeples for touring.

About me:

5'8" 145lbs

Skiing all my life and know how to carve (ex-racer)

East-coast skier, Stowe VT but moving out west in a year in a half.

These'll be used for smaller amounts of fresh and woods skiing, the Kartels or Course TIs kill it on trail so I'm set for that now. I'm thinking the 179 would be best, I don't think I'm comfortable with a 187.

Anything else you'd recommend for skis? Thanks, +K for any help.

I've got some older stuff I ocasionally take out, but the 106s are my daily driver. I was thinking something wider, ocassionally when I'm in the trees etc. and there's more than a few inches of fresh they can trip up a little. I figured I'd grab something a little wider. I work in a ski shop and ski with the reps as well so I'm not paying full price for this stuff. I know there's some overlap, but I'm not taking a full blown powder ski out on a regular day. 112 under foot is manageable for everyday for me though.

Alright, I'm hoping to demo a pair when I'm in Whistler or Utah this year. I've been reading reviews as well and it seems to ski alot shorter. The 187 looks like a better option thinking about it more. If you have them, how do they hold on the ocassional hard pack groomer? It seems like the Reflect Tech helps on that type snow, just wondering your opinion. Thanks

I ride the 187 Hoji as my DD. They crush pretty much everything and ive come to love the full rocker. So quick and nimble in the tight trees and bumps. That said, as you would think on icy hardpack you are going to be doing a lot of sliding and not carving. Also sometime when pointing it out a bumpy run out you can feel the lack of camber/contact area as the skis can wander a bit. All in all I love the shit outta them, adding some Renegades to the quiver next.

I'm pretty stoked on the Kitten Factory Chairman at the moment; it meets your specs pretty nicely.

They look sweet. I'll check them out, I'm going to SLC later this year to tour colleges. Maybe I'll tey and demo a pair.
