4frnt devastator vs moment meridian

These skis seem like they are pretty similar and I'm looking at replacing my bacons with something with more of a backbone but with similar dimensions and preferably rockered. The moment have some fine sex appeal with the shapes but there isn't a whole lot of info as far as reviews go. Heard nothing but good things about the devastator but they just straight up aren't as pretty and are pretty heavy which isn't a bad thing persay but still. Anyone have a comparison they could give me.

meridians have iffy reviews. either you like them or you do not. every one loves the devastators. personally I prefer the more traditional look and feel of the devs. the weight is there for a reason and it makes a difference.

the bibby is moments flagship ski.

the devastator is 4frnts flagship ski.

on moments website it says the meridian won skiers choice ski of the year.

If it helps I have ridden two pairs of the vices and am in love. one of the best skis I have ever ridden and I am certainly going to be a repeat customer even for other skis in their line.

Blister gave the Meridian an iffy review because we sent them one of the first 187s from the production line, we were rushed and it didnt get a proper tune. Once they got it retuned they liked it.

The Meridian is going to be a little quicker edge to edge and a bit more lively than the Devastator. The Devastator has more of a damp and heavier build and is going to be more of a crud buster. Mind you, I have only skied the 194 Devastator.

Hit me up if you have any other questions on the Meridian. luke@momentskis.com or direct at the factory: 775-527-1595

Late to the party, but this.

Luke Koppa already posted the updated Meridian review in this thread, Jonathan was super happy with them once he got them tuned and gives them the opposite of an "iffy" review.

I've only spent about half a day on the Meridian and about the same amount of time on the 184 cm Devastator, but I agree with Luke. The little Dev isn't as much of a massive crud buster as the 194, but it's still heavier and damper.

Choice really depends on what you're going for, but I'd say either of these skis should be a super fun Bacon replacement. And yeah, if you're just going for pretty I'd go Meridian haha!

It's definitely between the 181 meridian and a 184 devy. My concerns really are that the devy is to chargy that it's not going to be a ski that's easy to throw around and be goofy with and that meridan isnt going to be any more composed than the bacon in less than prime snow conditions. Skiing the bacons today in crappy conditions they are just so easily deflected and stuff. not that they don't hold an edge good enough on the hard pack but I don't ski much hard pack.

The Meridians are WAY more aggressive than the Bacon. The Meridian still rips in crud, just not as damp and heavy as the Devastator.

Ya kinda what I figured. I skiing pretty aggressively and find that the bacons just get too noodly when hard chargin

I can't wait to ride the Cheif Commander's.

I really like the 184 Devastators for everyday. However, I do not find them very playful. They are nothing like the bacons. If you are a strong skier and don't mind a little extra weight then they are a great daily ski.

I wouldn't say the Dev is 4FRNTs flagship ski.

I would say its too hard to pick just one as the flagship, just too many good skis to name.

The Renegade and Hoji have a cult like following.

The Kye's are gaining traction everywhere especially the 110.

And if anyone is wondering about the new INthayne. I have put 20 days resort/10 days touring and they are a stiffer more stable and just all around the best ski I've personally been on from 4frnt's line. Super versatile in waist deep too hardpack.

And this is coming from someone who owns Devestators, Kye 120, 110 and have owned Renegades in the past. And i can't find a reason to ski anything but the Inthayne full time now.
