4FRNT Deadbolts?

I'm getting a pair of ARVs and am trying to decide what bindings to mount them with. I have some Rossi Scratch 120s on my other skis that have held up pretty well but I don't like the spring housing on the rear binding (guess why), so I'm thinking about getting some 412 Deadbolts. They're last years and I can get them new for $120, but are they good bindings?

Thanks!

Yeah i run 614s on my VCTs, way better than my old salomons. The retention is really good, and they are exceptionally easy to get into, especially in pow.

yeah, that's the plus. they're not the lightest, but not the heaviest. and they're going for cheaper than 120 on getboards.com.

they're rock solid man!! i'm on my 3rd pair now, and never had any probs (2x614 and 1x816). I've had some bad landings, and lately I had to change the heel-piece thingy of my Lange FR120 who actually had split horizontaly in two... The guy over at Surefoot said it was due to heavy switch landings. But the deadbolt; INTACT! not a singel sign of weakness so far, from my experience!

and, I don't think they just change the colors from year to year. If they find any kind of weakness to it, they improve it. I know they've done something with the healpiece to make it stronger, some additional plate or making the plate stronger..

It's a binding made for newschool skiing, and constantly tested by some of the sickest skiers in the world! If it wouldn't hold up, 4FRNT wouldn't sell it, it's as simple as that! ;)

^ that came out quite messy and confusing, what I tried to say is that even after a good bunch of heavy landings (both backseat and switch!) my boots broke but no probs at all with the bindings! Voilà! :)
