what binding setting should i go, i have the problem that i can't land switch when i'm a little bit leaning forward and i can't nosepress (local shop mounted the bindings for me)??? im 6"0' (180cm), weight 165 (75kg), binding setting is now on 7

I have the 4-12 deadbolts I have then at 7 and I weigh 125 pounds. I'm with that other guy bump those up a couple 9 shouldn't be bad

i think the toe part is good because it doesn't release when i land straight, but when i land switch or nosepress the heel piece releases very esily... should i only go higher with the heel piece???

take em in and get them readjusted. you cant jsut crank the din settings up and expect them to work better.

No man... don't do what these kids say, thats how you end up with too high of a din and tear up your shit. Go up a HALF din at a time until you're not releasing. 9 sounds a little high for someone who is 165 and is only releasing from landing switch and doing butters. What you should check before even thinking about cranking up your din is your forward pressure.

See that little screw on the back?(not the big din screw) When you click in where is it at in relation to the plastic housing? If your forward pressure is correct it should be about 1-2 click turns (inwards) from being flush with the outside.

ps.. I am a certified on Vist/4frnt bindings.

öhm...the screw under the din-screw is comin out of the plastic housing like a half centimeter, but i think that is not the problem because the boot fits perfectly in the bindings (local shop mounted them for me)...should i change the din setting only for the heelpiece or for both a half???

I meant when the boot is clicked into the binding. The screw should be slightly on the inside of the housing. Just a few clicks outside and it'll be too loose and you'll come out.

Turn both front and back up a .5 din at a time. Not just the heel.

yeah that with the screw little bit in the housing is O.K. ... i think i turn the din up .5 first and look how it works, is that okey in your opinion???

was skiing on the glacier today and set the din from 7 (the shop did that) to 8 first, then after a switch 3 over a tiny jump i lost my ski when i landed but i landed pretty good and there was no reason to release so i set it to 9...little time later i landed only a little bit backseat on a bigger jump but the bindings shouldn't release but they did so i set the din to 10 and had no problems the rest of the day...do you think din 10 is a good idea?

I really think your forward pressure isn't right, or something inside the binding is cracked. It happens. 8-9 should be more than enough to hold you in. 10 sounds too high.

you guys are also missing something else. what is your bsl?

i am 155lbs, have a 305mm bsl and set my bindings at 9.5. if he has a small boot, then a 10 is perfectly reasonable setting.

hm i have a big boot (338)...i live on big foots =p ... and i checked the forward pressure - it's okey... i know 8 is really to low...9 works, but there are also prereleasings...hm what should i do, little over 9???

btw: i am not the hard core dude which sets his bindings too the highest din... i want them to release but not when it's not needed...don't want do damage my legs or knees

Bsl is an important aspect of the setting, However I don't have a chart in front of me.

For the 338 guy.. go a half din at a time. none of this oh.. 10 sounds good.

oh sorry lol i really missunderstood that my fault... yeah i did that with goin up half a din and i am now at little under 10!???

Just for reference, I'm 6'2" and about 220lbs with a BSL of 335 so shops normally set my bindings at 8. I kept prereleasing on takes offs and landings so I bumped it up to 8.5 and that was good enough. Listen to Tha_Grouch, he knows what's up

i had din 7 from the shop -> prereleased

then 8 -> prereleased

then 9 -> worked but not fine -> 10

but i think i go a .5 din lower an look how it works
