4FRNT Deadbolt 13

They are just Tyrollias I have used the same ones on my GS skis, if they can cope with 220 pounds of me at 80 mph arching GS turns on ice sheets without issue they should be fine, never pre released but they did eject me when my ambition got the better of me and I had a few tumbles.

did you have the 13 din ones though. I doubt it.

the 13 din ones have a different toe than the 15 and up dins. I haven't heard much good about the 13 and lower dins toe though

They were 13 dins as they were taken off a set of non FIS skis, never had an issue with them and they were punished a fair bit, it is actually the same toe as the 15' with the flip down front piece, my mate has the 15's on his head GTO's so ive seen them both up close. They are different to the peak series toe.

just so were talking about the same thing, this is the old deadbolt 13, with the same toe as the 15 and 18:

this is the new/current 13 with the same toe as the padlock series(however the padlock series has a different heel than the deadbolt, the deadbolt 13 has the same heel as the upper deadbolt series.

All in all, If you really want the more durable binding, you could look for the old deadbolt 13, you could buy a deadbolt 15 if you are in that din range, or you could buy a Salomon STH 12 Driver because that has a really good toe.

by the way, tyrolia (makers of 4frnt, head, liberty, amplid bindings) are putting a different toe on the 15 and 13 bindings. Since it is summer and you probably wont be skiing for a while, you could wait for that to come out and just wait and see how other people like it.

next years toe:

I have a pair of 12/13 deadbolt 13's and 11/12 night of the living deadbolt 18's.

Honestly, I like the 13's better. I ski at a 9.5 din so the 13's are perfect for me. Release values are the same on both bindings obviously. Clicking in a skiing feel the same on both, but the 13's do feel a tad lighter, not very noticeable though.

All around great binding.
