I remember reading speculation about a CR Johnson pro model from 4FRNT back when CR got signed. Any truth to this? I've been searching around and have had no luck finding anything. Anything with any information on it?
When I was flipping through next year's catalogue I didn't notice one. I think that I would have rememberd it but it was a month or so ago so I could be wrong. I speculate that there will be one the following season. There probably wasn't time to design and manufacture one considering it wasn't all that long ago that CR joined the 4frnt team.
I talked to a rep and he said that he was trying all sorts of things out. And to be excited...I was a little confused because it is going to be somewhat like the VCT, so I asked if it was going to be like a sick uber fat rockered ski but I was shut down
ya that is confusing. i originally heard that he wanted to make it like an ARG meets hellbent. so like, reverse sidecut like the new JJs and rocker. not to mention super fat. i think that would be 100 times sicker
Yeah, I was hoping it would be something crazy..but the rep said ehp's are as crazy as its going to get for a while....haha not those exact words of course
i sent an email to matt about them and theyre just an idea right now. not even close to released. theyre definatly a two years from now ski if even at all. and who ever said they rode em lied. they also might out out a rockerd park ski that year too. called the rcp or something like that.
they probably won't be released next season. It takes a fair bit of r and d to design a ski. I'll bet that all you'll see next year of them is CR riding graphicless prototypes, kind of like the shots of Hoji riding the ehp prototypes in some shots in push/pull.
The Bibby pro models were made in one year of r and d. They're coming out next year. So it is definitely possible. And they already took the longer length of the VCT, the 191 or whatever it was from 06, and gave it to Hoji for the EHP. Obviously slightly tweaked, but the shorter EHP is (or was for the first year it came out) basically just a longer VCT.
I'd be excited to see a pro model from CR, that would be pretty sick.
haha no offense, but i think your an idiot if you think ski companies only make one length of ski and thats it. The vct and ehp are 2 totally different skis. The reason the vct isnt in a huge size anymore, is because there was no demand for it.
Not an idiot. I read that in Powder. So maybe they're Idiots.
And do you remember the Salomon Gun LAB? Only came in a 188.
The Armada ANT? 191 only.
The ARG? 185 only.
No offence taken, but I'm not an idiot. Ski companies do make specialized skis in single sizes sometimes.
What I meant was the EHP was originally the 191 VCT. The shorter length of EHP was pretty similar (they got the idea from the 191 VCT), but the longer length was the weird monster that the EHP has pretty much become.
I don't think I'm that clear, but I know what I'm talking about.
