Check 'em out on the 4frnt website...sounds like they're not gonna be available this year, probably next season. Not too much info on them, if anyone has any let us know.

holy shit!!!111!1! he has more hten one namne??>?? omggg!! what a sux0rz@!! LOL

I wrote the words to this song on the back of a photograph

A little something like this is way to big to miss....

Looks like a nordica binding to me...

Nordica makes boots, or at least thats all they SHOULD make.

And They Say There's A Marajuana Problem!... There's No Problem, Everyone Has It...

I think a company named Vist makes them. They make racing plates and stuff for skis and 4frnt has got the hook ups with them to make a freeride specific binding. The main points seem to be no upward release for safer jumping and a tighter bolt pattern under the heel for rip-out prevention on fakie landings.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Jeff: Hey Geoff, did Ronny tell you not to wear any boxers so he could rape you better?

Geoff: No, I just put my boxers on backwards so the hole is in the back...it's alot easier that way.

'I'm in his nigger crew' (my little brother in response to my statement that he was in my 'digger crew')

'My knee hurts' (Jeff Merat after grinding a lunch table for an hour instead of sitting in the ski patrol shack for his torm mcl and acl which he got earlier that day.)

'I'm not asking for any help, just maybe for you to get off your ass.'(my dad)

What I want to know is why LINE or 4FRNT, or whoever for that matter, can't use the same technology that LINE is using, but put the inserts under the toe piece and a seperate set under the heal piece? That would seem more effective to me.

I have seen the LINE Reactor and it is nice looking and seems to be really beefy, but with the suspension plate it seems that we would not have the same feel under the foot, especially in the hard pack.

Tell me that can't be done.

that is fugly compaired to the reactors, or any other binding for that matter

when you say your inventing a binding, acctually invent it, just a word of advice for 4front

everyone knows their skis are the shit, but the bindings is a bigtime dissapointment to me

^ I'll second that..

4FRNT never said they 'invented' the thing, they're just releasing it. I think the bindings look sick, and the fact that they're re-tooled for freeride specific releases is great.

The only reason Nordica stopped using it is because they got bought out by Tecnica, which also owned Marker, which is why Nordica uses Marker now.

Props to 4FRNT for not trying to reinvent the wheel, but improve it instead.

Anyone who wants that binding right now can go order a VIST and stick a few 4frnt stickers on it.

Or, buy a LINE binding. At least they put some thought into redesigning the way a binding ought to work.

First off, you CAN'T order a binding from VIST.

Secondly, 'the way a binding should work?'

Bindings have been working for years smart guy.

The LINE binding is NOT the be-all, end-all of bindings, it's just a different take on how a binding CAN work, and we'll have to wait and see if it does.

Props to LINE for trying something new, but there are alot of variables you have to consider...

Will it pre-release?

Will it continue to work over time (3-5 years)

Will it get lighter (they're extremely heavy)

The 4FRNT bindings are proven to work, and are way lighter.

Makes my decision easy...

Don't be a jackass, and learn how to use google to look for more than porn. You most certainly can easily obtain a VIST binding. It's really not hard at all. I've found a number of european shops that are selling them online. It took me all of 0.5 seconds to find them, so I'm sure you can too.

And FYI: It really doesn't take much effort at all to rebrand someone else's product.

In fact, VIST bindings are available in North America RIGHT NOW

Lou's Performance Skiing Centre in Calgary has them.

AGAIN, YOU CAN'T ORDER THEM FROM VIST. And once 4FRNT releases their binding, I doubt VIST will sell to anyone. Why do you think they're letting 4FRNT sell it under their name? Because they will sell better.

And you're right it doesn't take that much effort to repackage a product, which is why I'm glad VIST is responsible for producing the bindings, they are experts and have state-of-the-art facilities at their disposal.

It also frees up 4FRNT to consentrate on just ski production.

So why is that such a bad thing hater?

wow dude, you need to chill out. go smoke some pot and come back in 20 minutes.

i personally wouldn't want to buy any binding that hasn't been proven over a long period of time - salomon and look/rossi come to mind because so many people swear by them. i haven't really seen anyone who actually OWNS the binding say 'dude, this is the best thing i've ever owned in my life' - right now it's just marketing hype from line for all i know, same with the 4frnt bindings (who cares if they're the same as another - if 4frnt bought the rights to them, then i don't see why anyone's bitching: it's not like they STOLE the design or anything).

as soon as i see people buy and use the bindings and hear their feedback on them, only then will i start to form my opinions.

Woah Rowdy2 man, relax. You are argueing at nothing.

Anyways, I'm pretty sure VIST is not going to stop making bindings when the 4frnts release. Take the Rossi/Look bindings for example. They are exatcly the same binding, except the paint color. If you don't beleive me, go to a local shop, grab a rossi and look, compare them side by side. They are manufactured by the same company (who makes what for who I'm not sure) The Rossi and Look Race stock boots are the same as well (not their regular boots, the race stock ones that you can't normaly buy... unless you're a racer). Why doesn't one company just stop making bindings?

And saying that selling only through 4FRNT will give you a bigger market is the sheerest bit of stupidity I have ever heard. To get the biggest piece of the market, sell through both!!! I'm sure that VIST would make LESS sales if they only went through 4FRNT because (a) it's new from 4frnt (if not altogether new) and people don't always like to buy new stuff and (b) freeskiing is such a tiny piece of the market, and i'm pretty sure that the racers, carvers, mogul skiers, backcountry skiers and the rest of the majority of skiers won't go 'hey look! 4FRNT, some company I've never even heard of, is making a binding!! I'll buy one of those!'

PS. don't get all pissy on me. I'm just saying it how it is

^ I'm not saying that the bindings are gonna suck and we should all get Lines. I just saw that everything you said was pretty faulty so I had to point it out.

I just think its stupid that we've heard all this hype about it and then it comes out and its a binding thats already out, with minimal changes at best. Just dissapointing. 4frnt is solid tho, maybe its just a start

theres only going to be so much that you can do to freestyle bindings before they get to the point of normal bindings, where there is a standard that everyone follows

sure there are those high priced binding with computer chips inside, which is crazy and new and awsome, but u dont see people shelling out the 900 bucks to get them

i dont see what the problem is with 4frnt just releasing the average binding with a few tweaks to it, ya line's was new, but it doesnt make it better, just different

if, or should i say when the line bindings proves itself to the ski community, and it will, you'll know that its better. Who doesn't want a safer binding? I do. Sure it may have had some slight needs in adjustments, but its still revolutionary, its the future for sure, maybe not the exact design, but the concept itself is pure genius

i've demoed the 4frnt bindings.. i will admit they're super light but i cant get over the feeling of riding with them.. can you say racer steeze?

i dont find the looks of the to be anything special, the look/rossi and the Line look better but the name is pretty sweet 'deadbolt'.

i am pretty sure they are just the nordica binding. when i talked to Sterbo he said that they will be testing them all this winter. and that when they come out, they won't have the big gay plate on them.

CUSTOM hats and headbands for sale. Earflaps, strings, visors, lil pom pom thingers, borders. PM me.

those were demo bindings...thats why they had the 'big gay plate on them' these are solid bindings, they have been made for years and are very popular in europe.

ok, they're not nordica bindings, as stated MANY times in this post, they are VIST bindings, and i've heard that it's not the final binding, which is why they're not releasing it this year, they're going to test it this year and make changes throughout the year until they get a dope binding, so don;t hate on them yet until they're finalized and you can ski them (aside from the kids demoing them at coc or whatever)

Off topic: I just thought of the ultimate binding; mounting the toe from a salomon S912ti, and a heel from a Rossignol axium or Look!
