Also this is the day hitler was born, so we should grief for all the dead he caused. We all know whats a good way to get along with grief is.. and its not heavy drinking.

So as i see it, this day has more meaning to it than most of us believe. Its more than a day some kids agreed to meet at 4:20 by some statue or about some "road 420" in canada..

I'm going to follow Vice's lead here and say, whats with all the worshipping of Bob Marle? he was a boring pothead whos music ranges from the (rarely) pretty decent to the incredibly annoying

its like those guys who rock rasta colours everywhere, or even worse throw marley on their shirts. What you're saying is you smoke bud and thats the most interesting thing about you, which puts you on a par with most 7th graders.

so if you listen to bob marley and smoke pot your a boring person? i bet alot of skiers that have inspired you and given you the kicks for skiing loves both pot and bob m! You would be surprised if you knew who really smokes around you, its alot more than you would think! and usualy alot of people you never would have believed smoked..

Come on now, its just another day, yeah i smoke but you dont need to be counting down to it. Theres always about 400 million threads on it, on 4/20. Yeah its cool that its nationally known but come on now its not even march 20th yet!

Bob Marley was not about being a "boring pothead". Marley was a faithful Rastafari, and was even considered a prophet. And if you knew anything about the Rastafari Movement, you'd know that smoking cannabis was a spiritual cerimony. They consider it a sacrament that cleans the body and mind, exalts the consciousness, facilitates peacefulness, and brings them closer to Jah. It was used mainley as an aid for meditation and religious obervance, and they interperit the bible as condining it. They also think it is perfectly reasonable that it it illegal because of the power of the substance.

As for Marley's music, you may not like reggae music, and I'm not about to argue that you should, however, you should appreciate Marleys music the way Bob Dylan's is appreciated. Like Dylan, Marley sang about social, political, and ethical issues of society, but Marley fit in a good amount of religion as well. Im not saying you should like it, like I said before, just appreciate it. We all know Bob Dylan was an awful singer, but his songs are epic because of the lyrics. It is the same with Marley.

Now that other part I agree with, I cant stand seeing middle schoolers or the like wearing Marley shirts, or with "Rasta" hats or clothes when they have no true understanding of their meaning. I agree that it is a huge statement of priorities and intrerests of the individual, labeling them either as a pothead or a wannabe, I just dont want you to be blaming Bob Marley for this fashion choice.
 
I agree with most parts of that. I hate those kids who rep rasta colors and think the're the shit because the're showing that they listin to music that is influenced by pot. I hate those people so much.

Maybe Marely did drugs for religious beliefs, but 99.9% of the people in the world do drugs because of the high, not because it 'brings them closer to Jah'. 420 is a bullshit holiday, historical things have happend on every day of the year, major things, and this is just some excuse for a bunch of people to get high (which you seem to agree with).

theres a bunch of origins for 420, supposedly some kids gathered at 4:20 every day to smoke in cali, but thats just a theory wikipedia offered

Bunch of kids met after school or something and got this HUGE pot fest going and the cops couldnt really stop them from doing it because they werent selling it, so I guess they thought they had beaten the system.

Well, at least thats how the story goes here in the Bay Area... Then again we still havent found the real Zodiac killer, so what do WE know...
 
I thought they did find the Zodiac, or at least a prime suspect, and he had a heart attack before they could bring him in, or was that just the movie misleading me?
 
there have been about 1000 suspects... never found the real zodiac... every time they got a lead, they could never find him... they have had at least 20 prime suspects, dna tests have proven otherwise... the movie doesnt tell the whole story, its a movie, it physically can't.

theyve had suspects all over, but nothing has been conclusive enough...
 
i will be going to a concert and smoking rediculous amounts of marijuana... alcohol will probably be involved as well... one of the best days of the year and it always falls shortly after the season is over so its like an end of yr celebration... well not celebrating more like consoling so lets all get faded to the point of no return type deal... good times...
 
theres no pride invovled with 420, to many kids try to be cool and never stop talking about it. So i hear the goal is to smoke pot all day on 420?? Well if you're a stoner you do that either way, it just gives some losers a way to think they're cool and tell the whole word they smoke.
 
theres a whole culture associated with pot smoking and 420 is one small thing invovlved in that... u obviously have no idea...
 
yeah you're right, i must be a rookie, since i've been smoking for years and didnt realize there was a culture behind it? Just smoke pot and enjoy life
 
yeah same here..i skipped school that day and chilled w/my bf all high and it came on the tv...talk about a shocker.

and i didnt mean to celebrate columbine and hitler...i was just stating what had happened on that date
