4 year olds skiing.

I started at 1 if you want to consider skiing with a leash skiing...I feel as if skiing at a young age helps one discover if they enjoy it(no crying), or hate it(the crying brats everyone hates). It also for me was a family time, and has been ever since.

Starting younger really has no impact unless youre looking to become a pro racer or freestyler..or a Jon Olsson freak hybrid

yes. i started when I was 2 and change and its been an absolute passion my whole life. I feel more comfortable on skis then walking as do many.

I first skied when I was 12 but didn't really start till I was 20, now (26) I ski all the time!

The little kids can get pretty good. If you want your kid to be really good, leave them in ski school instead of a creche when they are 3/4, we had one kid like that when I worked in CO and after 1 season he was shredding. That does require you to live in the mountains, but why would you live anywhere else!?

i started at 2 and by the time i was 6 i could rip the entire mountain up by myself (stratton) but didnt start skiing park until i was 12

I started at 2 1/2 and I would say that was the best decision that my dad has made for me. I remember my first time skiing pali when I was 6.

question to all the ppl who started when they were in the 2-5 range.

how often did you go up? was an every weekend type of thing, or was it a once or twice a season deal?

and if it was once or twice a season, at what age did you start going ever week?

I started when I was 3, but I'm still garbage. Had I been lapping the park and hitting pow since I was 3, that'd be different, but I was mostly just falling over all day.

It was always fun as a toddler, but I went maybe 3 times a season until I was about 9 and realized I loved it more than anything else. I really only started going every week when I was about 11 though.
