A bunch of people always gather at the Capitol in Salem OR to blaze in front of the cops, it is so funny. i am heading over there tomorrow to watch. you people really don't know about the history of 420 do you? some say it's the old police code or a bunch of shit but here's the truth.

not 100% on where it originated but here it is;

school let out at 4:00pm every day and these guys would all meet after school to blaze. by the time they got all their shit together to go smoke it was 4:20pm so they just kept telling each other they'd meet at 420 and it began to spread. i think this was back in the 60's or 70's

yah i read that article in high times too. i'm just content with the fact that 4:20 is when when we smoke, and i don't worry about how it was created, because we will never really know. sort of like a metaphor for our universe and my religious views. i love cannabis

besides that story isn't really legit, because if it originated in the 60s/70s, then at least some of our parents would know what 420 was, but i haven't met a single one that knew until one of their kids told them. but i'm not going to debate this topic, i'm just going to load another bowl

yeah, Last year it looked like the skate park here was on FIRE on 4/20 because evryone was under the ramps smokin up. It was so funny.

 
actually i heard the real reason its called 420 is because there is a bible passage, which book I am not sure, but its chapter 4 verse 20 where god states to cherish the earth and all things natural or something like that, thus everybody smokes up because of it.

none of you are right. just get high and stop worrying about it. we will never know how 4/20 actually originated, but that's what makes it such a special number. like i said earlier in this thread we shouldn't turn the origins of 420 into a pseudo-religious debate
