3's to 7's

'I would be embarrassed to constantly complain about my life considering all the freedom and opportunities we have today. People that can't find anything they enjoy in life simply aren't giving it a real try.' ~Nick 311

lets see...i learned 3s when i was like 10...then maybe 6 years later i progressed to 540s (before i knew anyone ever landed backwards on skis (latiDA)) and then 7s when i was like 18 i guess.

lol 6 years to lern how to get an extra 180 in?

Yea I learned 3's when I was 10 or so as well, but no tables, first year we had tables, learned 5's in a day, 5's are actually a lot easier than 7 cause you don't have to much of anything in setting the spin, but 7's, after a month of crossing up smooth 3's over tables, and 5's under your belt, you could get 7's pretty solid w/in 3 days I'd say, you'll land them the first day, but also have some backseat goin on.

I really only started to get into newschool skiing this year (shamefully I was a racer. Now I realise what a bunch of wankers the majority of them are). I could already do 360's, and when the season began over here, I went out and began trying to nail 5's. I found that the hardest thing to overcome is the feeling of landing switch. If you haven't really done it before, it can be pretty weird once you try. So I guess all the advice I can offer, is, just try it. Nine_Milla_Killa is right when he said it is all in your head.

Good luck.

all i can do are 650's

it took my like 10 days to go from 3 to 5, but i only did it coz i was really pissed off at my skiing, and i was lonering it, just chilling just about crying on the chair so i thought fuck it im gonna try a 5 went up hit a wind lip and did it sweet skiied away and clamed? it, i was sooo stoked, and no one believed me, except the people on the chair, that saw it.

I progressed really quick. Last year I got my first pair of skis and just took to them. our season was almost three months and at the end of the year I had first place in the big air event from a smooth 540 tail. My bag's not very big yet but I got smooth 3,5,7s and backs under my belt, along with a couple rodeos here and there. So far as what everyone says, it's true, it's all in your head. Just go for it and keep your cool. Nothin feels quite the same as stickin a new trick.

LAst season was my first year with twins. SO I learned all my new tricks last season. but I injured myself and couldn't ski for the month of january so I missed alot of soft snow time. want to learn more.... want to learn more.... craving knowledge...... booookkkss boooookkksss.... umm.... i mean i like skiing.. its extreme.

I learned 5's and 7's in the same day at high north

What the hell were they doing with a car on the moon?... havent they gone far enough?

iv done some 450s in my days

~Chris

You know something that would really make me applaud? A guy gets stuck in quicksand, then sinks, then suddenly comes shooting out, riding on water skis. How do they do that?

and thats not a typo, i do mean 450s off normal jumps

Xetreme 90s it where its at. u do a huge 90 with the most twicked out grab and off the biggest table u can find, but the xtreme part comes when u land sideways and u dont let go of the grab

thanks, much love for the posts. Lagwagon, i'm sorry about the crying on the lift, can't say that it happens to everyone, but it's chill man.

Dude..when i learned 360s there wasn't a jump let alone a table at my hill. And 540s??????? those didn't even EXIST in any skiers mind. When i learned 540 i honestly thought i was the first skier in the world to land backwards. It wasn't until almost a year later that i saw kris osteness GRABBING a ski...and that opened up so many doors...but still seemed silly...until mosely did it with a 360, that was the craziest thing i'd ever seen on skis. Then the following year the Freeze issue that threw the spotlight on the new canadian airforce came out...which was a whole new world that never existed.

So yah, 6 years...that whole time i was imagining how cool it would be if i had a jump big enough so i could cross them. But i stuck to my daffy spread.

yea i agree wait for a soft day or a good jump that you feel comfortable do a three and just keep on turning a little more for the 5. I cant do 7's yet but that is for this season
