3s off tables

I want to throw my first 3 off a table this weekend but don't know how to go about it. Only done it off smaller jumps. Don't want to over or under rotate. Any rules?

 
check out the resources section, then tricks. There are a few good examples of how to do a 360. Main thing is this: your body goes where your head looks. Arm swing or don't, your call, but keep looking where you want to land

its the same feeling just throw it less hard look over your shoulder and spot your landing your head will slow your rotation down. Plus you'll have more time to accidently go off-axis so make sure you look down a little bit so you don't land on your tails

I personally can't throw 3's off little tables anymore I tried the other day and hurt myself. I think it's alot easier on a big jump

just really nerver wrecking.....Did you eat it on your first one. My greatest fear is coming down hard, injuring myself, and being out all season.

 
Don't be affraid chance of wrecking huge are small. Just pop and turn your head the way you want to spin, its that simple. And to stop spot your landing. Don't worry about grabs and such until your comfortable doing 3's and can do them without even trying.

 
just go for it, with no doubt. 90% chance you want get hurt. its the weird inverted corked shit that starts getting you hurt. keep your feet beneath your head and you will survive

hit a jump that you are comfortable with and as you pop off the jump you turn you head and shoulders to the left(or right) and your skis will follow and when you can see the landing you just keep looking at it and you won�t overrotate

ok this might help some 1st timers if they r just tryin to stomp 1 off a small kicker....the main thing u r gonna need to know is that if ur tryin 1 off a samll jump right before u hit it u r gonna want to cock ur armsin the opposite direction u spin, and when u just leave the lip, throw ur arms in the direction u wanna spin, ur head wil go in that direction and just keep looking that way and befor u know it u wil have roated 3, just try it til u land it..hope this leads to biger things

Thats the way i learned them: Go out and do it! Think about nothing. I may take you a season for feeling comfortable enough. And: Don't try it on to small kickers. You need some time to throw it your first time. Than for your second time: Throw it like you are going in a rodeo, feel like you are leaning back. BIO 360, you did it. I did the bio 3 the same day i did my first 3. Even though i didn't want to go bio.

Ok...to do a 360, you must be concentrated. First you should get a lot of speed and try to get as much air as u can. To do this, just before you go of the jump, (pretend were doing a 360 to the left) you put ur left hand on ur right hip and your left hand on the back of ur right hip. Then right after leaping off the jump, throw ur arms to the left and maintain ur balance. Practice a lot and it should be easy!

First: to all you 'funny' guys out there describing 30000 rotations; PLEASE STOP, ITS NOT FUNNY AT ALL!!! The thing that is really important when doing 3's is to look over your shoulder, and turn you upper body. Then your skis will follow automaticly. It is also smart to wind up, since you will get faster. When you can do the 3, try doing it slower or with grabs for more style. Good luck!

first of all, if you're a beginner and you have guts, try this on a smaller table top. approach the lip and (spinning left) pole plant your left pole into the top of the lip. with your right hand, punch the air in the direction you're spinning (left). everything else will follow. rotate, spot your landing and stick it. Seriously people, this is by far the easiest way to do them.

look over shoulder, get off axis by mistake and then compensate for that by throwing your hands above your head to finish the rotation, stomp it and ride away like you showed everyone up

if you're afraid to fall you will never progress, if you overrotate or underrotate you will just sketch out and maybe fall on your ass. thats about it.

oh yea dont wind up before the lip for a 3, no stylie!! soon as your boots are off the lip look over your shoulder and rotate your upper body, your legs will follow naturally, look for the landing and stick it.

 
the bigger the table is, the easier it is to do a 3, no joke. dont even wind up, just go intot he trick confident and commit, youll land it first try i guarantee it

Just trust yourself. If you suck at skiing, go get some practice on smaller jumps to build your confidence. The thing that will kill you is that element of doubt as you take off, and if you're not committed, you're going down. Gotta just give'R

The most important part is landing on the transition. I was working on 3's today (ive been outa the park for two seasons) off a pretty big table and the only time I was having trouble with them is not clearing the jump all the way. Even if you crash on the tranny it doesn't hurt that bad.

Whatever you do don't pole plant on the lip like the one suggestion said, thats just plain retarted.

stay in a forward possition and punch the air a little with your opposite hand (i.e. if spinning left punch left with right hand). tuck your knees and spot your landing.

first hit the table straight to judge the right amount of speed needed. also, make sure your body and legs are one. It looks retarded and messes you up when you have your legs and body come around at different times

cant overemphisize the importanc eof commitment and staying forward, just gotta do it, and not stop the rotation cause your scared thatll hurt more than if u rotate and then fall

even though theyre easier on bigger jumps, i found i had to learn on small jumps, simply based on the fact that i wasnt comfortable rotating in the air, let alone with alot of air on a table.

haha just don't go too big or you will end up having to float it out, and the more time floating = more time to get off-axis, which sucks.

most important thing in doing a 3 is to pop off the lip then set your rotation

or else youll get offaxis and if your not expierienced you will die

 
Practice tip: Do them just standing, i was having trouble with mine, and all of a sudden i started spinning all over the place: walking to the bus stop, any time like that, if you look over your shoulder you'll get it.

When you hit it, i learned on about a 15 footer. it was a good hit for it and you just gotta look over your shoulder, feel free to wind up as you're learning, but once you get them, never wind up again.

if your skis click together in mid air as your coming out of the jump, you'll probably stop your rotation completely, in which case bring it around to 180 and try to land switch

 
wait a second, are you guys talking about picnic tables, coffee tables, or dining room tables? cuz i find coffee tables to be the easiest.
