Just found this on Cinema5d. Seems like a good deal. Who else has had experience with 3rd party battery grips? and What are some others you would recommend?

i had that exact same one with my old t2i and probably will buy it again

A battery grip for the T2i for 60 dollars that comes with 2 batteries and is supposed to work just as well as the Canon battery grip that comes with no batteries and costs around 150.

That one looks really good, I just ordered a 3rd party from ebya one under the brand name Zeikos. My brother had one for his t1i and It was really great quality, I would definitely recomend it, its around $70

I love having the option of putting it on or off, but with my new upgrade I don't have that choice anymore :D

i got one off eBay for 35 and i would not recommend it, even when the battery tray was in and shut if you pulled on it the slightest bit it would disconnect, so i had to take it apart and fix it, thats what you get for 35$

I've never heard of these things. What are they and what do they do? Why can't you just buy some additional batteries instead? Like a DSLR isn't bulky enough as it is!

I got a $40 one that came with two batteries. Worked amazing and I don't have to charge my camera for weeks. But the downside was that the button didn't haven have a pre focus it was just much the button it focuses then takes pictures so none the less i never actually use it unless i'm using manual focus. But none the less, the two purposes i got it for worked. To make the camera bigger and to have more battery life.

To start if you you have 3 batteries and your filming from a tripod shooting a time lapse and you're low on battery rather than dismounting you can just swap them out. It also adds stability when you're shooting freehand. They also give you a couple more features. I can't think of them though.

and its fucking steezy

Fair enough! I really want to get more into photography, but I have zero money and a lotta debts so... :(

I do have a Nikon analog SLR, I don't know which one, but it's a nice one, and it's got three lenses with it (it's my mums old camera). One tele lens, one wide angle and just a normal lens. I should pick that thing up and get some more into it before I blow my money on something like a Canon 550D (I think it's called a t2i in the us).

Sorry for thread-jacking, but what is a better brand overall, I know it's a stupid question and it's probably got a lot to do with preferences, but I'm more inclined to Canon for some reason...
