3rd gully at big sky

I finally got a good run in on one of the A-Z chutes with a mandatory at the bottom... Now that the snow is good, it appears I need ankle surgery...

No, I dislocated/fractured my foot in September, and now its bugging me really bad. I probably have scar tissue or something, but its definitely not healing properly, its been 5 months.

Fuck man. Go to my uncle. "Lone Peak Physical Therapy" Tell him Riley Carson sent you. He has offices everywhere around here

I was doing PT, but I don't have secondary insurance, and I can't afford the co-pay so I am just doing it on my own. Also, I am pretty sure PT will not help. I have been stretching/strengthening/icing my ankle for 5 months and recently its getting worse/I am losing range of motion due to pain. Good chance of either scar tissue, torn cartilage, or a neuroma.

But if your dad does free PT, sign me up!

Idk man. The sad thing is you may be doing more harm than good. Sometimes it doesn't need stretching, you could have torn something and when you stretch it just re tears. That is the problem with bad PT's and stuff you read online, everyone things stretching is the key, and it ends up just re tearing tissue. It's worth a shot to go to one of his offices.

The pain is only present, right underneath the tibial head during forward flexion. It cannot be caused by torn supportive tissues, as this area is being compressed, not stretched, during forward flexion. Since the pain is in a very specific location, has only recently begun happening (3.5-4 months after injury) and everything else is much better, and since the dislocation would not have stretched or torn anything on the inside of the foot, it is VERY unlikely that it is torn tissues. Also, in addition to dislocation, I also fractured the tibial head.

So pretty much, PT can't fix it, PT actually hurts it. It isn't swollen, even if I tweak it bad it doesn't swell up at all. Its something that needs to be dug out.

Alright since you seem to know what is up sounds like you are good to go and will be fixed in no time.

Sooo stoked that the gullies are finally getting less sketchy. I haven't bothered with them all season since the coverage was so thin until now. Pissed that I couldn't get up there this week because of midterms.

I am going to go crazy this weekend up there.

For added stoke, here is a video of Kip "skiing" applecore. Last year was nuts.

And just as an added FYI, if you want to prevent blown out helmet cam footage like that, I posted a thread about making a filter, just look through my threads, I will bump it too.

That video was so blown out it hurt my eyes. Kinda pointless, couldn't see anything.

Also that thread was not in your threads...
