3D TV

You can now buy full HD 3D tv's from Samsung. So my guess is that this is the next big thing. Watching sports and movies in 3D on your home TV. I give it less than a year before there are strictly 3D channels available on cable and satelite. I mean it's not totally out of the question. I mean I am pretty stoked to sit at home and watch some football, game shows, MTV 3D, and other shit like that. The possibilities are endless. Thoughts?

Cool but only if you don't have to wear those stupid fucking glasses. I saw a commercial the other day advertising a 3D TV and the people were wearing the glasses and it just seems super gimmicky to me unless they get rid of the glasses. If they did that then it would be fucking sweet.

my sister works at an investment company and they are looking into this 3d tv company. apparently one day when she wasnt at work, they brought in 3d porn! she did get to watch a 3d basketball game though and said it was awesome.

You do still have to wear the glasses... although they do look a lot more like sun glasses now so it's not as lame.

I'm pretty sure you do have to wear some type of glasses for these tvs. China i bet has some crazy expensive tv that can show a 3d image without the glasses.

Eh somehow I get the feeling that these 3D TVs will have a way soon to not need glasses. An idea i thought of was having a bit of the 3D glass (whatever it is), in front of the actual screen. Eliminating the need for them. They are a complete hassle though.

^not true.

i believe toshiba, maybe sharp, has created a screen that doesnt require glasses.

and 3d tv's have been around for a couple of months, they are definitely going to be the must-have of this year, and obviously for the future.

for example, nintendo's next handheld, codenamed the 3ds, will most likely be using a Sharp screen that wont need glasses, and will still be 3d.

Well that's good. I want to get one of them but I tend to always wait on new stuff. At least for a year so there is a better choice.

mitsubishi is the one that made the optical 3d tv, its not even close to as good as the others though. they arent glasses that you are seeing, more like goggles. its not just some polarized bullshit...they cost 250-300 dollars right now per pair though which is ridiculous. my brother works at best buy doing all the 3d set ups and shit and he said it makes the movie theatre 3d look like shit, apparently the picture is full on top quality HD all while having 3d that is incredibly deep compared to the movie shit. its going to be the trend, and its fucking gay as far as movies go...but if you can afford the 3d tv its probably sick.

i remember reading a while back espns committed to broadcasting a few dozen games in the near future in 3d, and nintendos developing a gameboy thats 3d without the use of glasses. welcome to the future.
