Its the convergence zones man. One set up off of vancouver island and it was aimed right at stevens pass all night long. It has to do with the flow of moisture around the island that all converges at a point. same happens with the olympic mountains.
Example of convergence zone coming off both olympic mountains and vancouver island. Baker tends to get missed and snoqaulmie and stevens get dumped on.
hahaha thats why I leave no later than 6:45-7:00 on days like that. It can get so crazy up their especially since its a saturday and just the amount of snow they have gotten in the passed two days. People are stupid thinking they can get a spot arriving at 10:30 or 11:00 when it snows that much, everyone heads to stevens when they get more snow than anywhere else in washington. I actually like the limited parking and I'm fine with people getting turned around.
damn dude. that blows. I live an hour and 10 minutes away from stevens though so you may be farther away? that sucks though man I have never had to go into the over flow but I have, had friends that have parked on highway before.
It fucking sucks, I live about an hour north of chicago and the same thing is happening. It seems like every year we JUST miss the massive snow to the north
