Does nobody understand how extreme sports progress?

1. Push boundaries by hucking like crazy.

2. Realize style is important and refine simpler tricks.

3. Conquer simple tricks and repeat step 1 to push boundaries again.

These are the stages extreme sports go through. At each stage there are both people who huck and people who refine. The huckers push the sport and the refiners make it look good. Both exist to serve the other. Without huckers, the refiners would have nothing to refine. Without refiners the huckers would have no reason to continue hucking.

Its not about REFINING. Its about making steeze a part of your skiing. A part of everything you do. Like you just DONT do shit thats not steezy cause your skiing is just inherently steezy.

You claim to be a refiner. Congrats there are many others out there like you. But without people trying rail transfers, double flips ect there is only so far skiing can progress.

If Random McNobody never stepped up and slid the first rail or grabbed for the first time, because he believed that he should REFINE his carve, stance, ect, there would be no such thing as newschool/freestyle/freeride skiing, and nothing for you to REFINE.
 
yeah, you are right.

I just think that its wrong to think of steeze as just refining. You can do new, crazy shit, but still have steeze. You don't have to be working on the same old stuff to be steezy. It's just an attitude and a way you have about yourself when skiing that carries over to anything you do on your skis.
 
I agree with that. Its important to realize though that there are some people who care about this and some who do not. It's important to explore all aspects of skiing but nobody has any right to tell anyone how they should ski. It's all personal opinion. I suggest leading by example and not by claims and voiced negativity.

now let me tell you something. parcour is one of the fucking hardest things i've ever done, especially the quad i tightrope walked backwards last summer. plus i think they're kinda rare because nobody has ever done quad kinks backwards in parcour before.

you can't hate on rail transfers just because people didn't think they were doable till recently. They can be made to look good. Also, one transfer isn't anything like videogame fantasy tricks.

I don't see why all you do is shun skiing and all the tricks that you have no chance of ever being able to do. You say everyone else tries too hard at skiing at the tricks like doubles and transfers are retarded and what not, but thats only because you suck and it makes you feel good about the way you ski and the limited amount of tricks you can do. All you are is a fucking piece of shit who can't accept it, so you just bitch about skiing and how all the tricks are out of your league (so they must be gay). I think you should make up you're own sport and own site and call it originaliiischoolers.com so you can bitch about this all day with your 4 other friends who share the same beliefs(complaints).
 
haha... but thats actually not the situation at all. He just thinks that there could be cooler stuff being thrown down, and I certainly don't think it has anything to do with being jealous of these skiers abilities to do doubleflips.

Paul doens't have to be a complete dickhead about EVERY aspect of skiing/progression which doesn't please him (99% of skiing). He doensn't have to bring every ns member into this. No one gives a fuck about his opinions except for you and a couple others so why don't you keep it to yourselves.

Cause they are fun and they look pretty sexy, they are flowy and stuff, and they are very fresh, they are bringing skiing in kind of a cool realm which it has not really explored, which is all the funky stuff you can do with your skis like using the whole ski, to press and play and like explore the domain of skiing beyond just spins and stuff./

I realize that response is pretty crazy, but hopefuully it gets the idea accross
 
but there is no "next trick" in my mind. It's just about exploration and not limiting yourself.
