360° Ski edit... MIND = BLOWN !

I think this is super awesome and the technology is crazy but isn't it kinda the opposite of what you want when filming?
You film something because it is interesting and you want to share it with other people. Therefore you have a target that you are filming. So why even give your audience a chance to look away from what you are trying to share? Especially for skiing. You are only watching the skier, so why do you even need to be able to look around?
Maybe like sky diving this would be awesome, but for skiing I really don't see a point to it. Just gets me lost and confused.

its definitely in its budding stages, but i can see awesome things coming from this. as a lot of people said, it kinda takes away from the filmers job and can make an annoying edit, but there is serious potential for something like this.

This is incredible. I think I've watched this edit more times than any other one just cause I can't get over the awesomeness of it.

holy shit. i could only imagine how awesome watching a ski movie that i know well with this kind of filming would be.

is this meant to be 1 sec frame lagging? - if it is, shittest edit ive ever seenIf not - why the f is it lagging

She-Coloris,
i think NS member Abek was one of the first to use it in an edit of the USC skiteam ....

here's the song....

it's lagging because your PC can't handle it, its an interactive ski edit where you controll which way the camera is filming ...

so clean up your PC and watch clean porn from now on....
or get a new and better pc ...

The guys at slopeviews have been mapping all the resorts for the past year and have the only realistic application for this tech. My friend lives in Breck and is one of the owners. While they are doing some sweet stuff that hasn't been launched yet from what I have seen it 's going to be big! 3D is still my favorite though...I think the 360 video thing is just too far out there for people.

i dunno man, 360° view is imho more accessible because 3D requires funky glasses and it's also more fun to have an interactive view instead of some 3D effect that causes a headache ...

and imho this edit is much cooler than some guy plowing down a run with a 3d camera to "map" it ....

awesome. kkinda difficult to move it the way i wanted it too but if you use the arrow keys its much much easier to get the view youre looking for

i loved it. at one part, it was night so i moved the view to the sky then i went back down and it was daylight, sick.
