For some reason whenever i try and spin a three end up spinning off axis a little towards my back and landing in the backseat. Any tips....

i had the same problem and my coach said that when ur hand goes back it brings ur body with it so keep ur hands up

Okay, so i need help too.

I just moved up the size of the jumps on my 360's and i already backseated them before

today hit it about 15 times

13 of those i washed out and fell., once getting ass raped by my boner binding

2 i landed

so im not only landing backseat i keep falling, and i dont know what im doing wrong.

I have a athetic stance, knees bent and my weight is towards the front.

I cant pop hard since the jump itself has a lot of lip

anyways, i did fall because i over rotated a bit on a few of them but i cant seem to fix it.

I try looked over my shoulder but around the 180, i look down at my skis and where I am above the snow

could this be why im falling?

^ HAHA I thought u said u got assraped by YOUR OWN boner lol

neways, i just went up today and pretty much just sent it. I did a couple of 270s etc. off small hip-ish kind of jumps (u usually find on the side of a cattrack or a green run) to warm myself up and to gain confidence, then just did it over a 10 foot jump.

I use my arms and poles a lot when i wind up, then just keep looking over my shoulder. According to my friend who watched me, I was rotating a lot b4 i was actually in the air so that might help too, just popping a little b4 the lip? Im no expert at this and the way im doing it might be wrong but i hope it helps.

o ya and make sure to keep your legs together as i catch my edges a lot because my back ski's flailing all over the place. Probs not the most stylish

Good luck

you just gota claim it. it actualy works.

but a little piece of realy advise that i found helpful with spins is to not overroate off the lip while coming off especialy when the lip is a little wonky after a few snowboarders have been rideing it like a roller. Cuz if you do overrotate it off the lip and drag your tails it can cause them to catch on the lip which can throw you off axis or slow your rotation dramiticly.

well i hope this helps and good luck to u guys, keep on shredding the yellow brick road to Gnarnia

try to focus on not using your arms so much. for me i used to try to wind up 3's, and if your going off a 10ft+ jump you don't need to nearly as much as you may think. when you wind up and throw really hard chances are your gonna go off-axis.

come off balanced, legs wide. focus on turning your shoulders and turso, not on whipping yourself around. if you can comeoff the lip, and turn your upperbody and keep forcing it toward the rotation, while looking with your head in that same direction, i'd say you have a much better chance of landing more upright. one thing ive noticed while doing this is that since your not focusing on your arms but instead on how you set your spin, your pop becomes much more smooth and helps you into your rotation, while helping you land more foward rather then backseat

Use your core to make the spin. Don't let your your arms do the work. That is what is throwing you off axis. Don't think about a 360 as such a big trick, just let it happen. Progressively, you'll be adding grabs in no time.

just really focus on keepint that lead shoulder straight, in fact what i do is keep my lead (left) shoulder up a little more than the right shoulder so that i make sure i don't go backseat.

ya i have the same problem, not only am i landing way backseat in like a snowplow, i also feel totally out of control in the air. tips? what should you do with your arms in the air, have them out or pull them in?

Well, after heeding NS tips and some help from my friend, I landed my first three today!

The tip that helped me most was to look over my shoulder; and instead of using my arms to spin, to use my "core", i.e. hips, shoulders, etc.. Once I did that, the spin was so much easier to set and follow through with, and I feel so much more confident in trying different spins.

The biggest tip I have for you, is definately to look over your shoulder. It will help you so much.

Good Luck

and no, i was not claiming

if you keep your head up and follow the horizon , this should keep you centered, and once yo get this vision down it becomes easier and easier to cork shit out, if you look down it will drive you forward or in the back seat

When you spin just, bend over super far back, almost like your trying to grab your tail piece of your binding. Tuck up your legs and your good.

learn on bigger jumps, then fuck around off the sides of runs and shit. but just carve into it, so it sets you spinning then just look around your should for the landing, keep on looking at the spot your going to land on all the way through, you dont need to look at your feet to make sure your skis are straight thatll fuck you up.
