360 help... yes i know search

I know i should search but I did and found nothing.

SO I wouldn't be posting this if I didn't have to.

Basically, been trying to get 3's for 2 years (not trying very hard, one try every couple of days)

But these last few days I've really been trying, and I can't get it. My issue is, apparently I cork a little left, and land either way backseat and carve hard left on the landing, or land on my left side (like on my side sliding down the landing.), or on a good one really heavy on my left foot.

So basically what can I do to fix this? I try to set my spin level, keep my head level, and to pop evenly but it hasn't worked.

Thanks NS

yeee^^ gotta pop forward if you're landing backseat. You'll know in the air if you pop was right. after bang.

dude, i had the exact same problem as you for a while (still happens occasionally). i dunno if you look down at your feet or not, but for me i made sure i kept me head looking up. my buddy also said that when i was trying to spin the 3, i would do a slight pizza on the jump, just before taking off of the lip and once i started focusing on keeping those skis straight, i haven't really had that problem. also, what helped me was to stop carving as much when going off the jump. lately i've been doing less of a carve when going up the lip and thats also seemed to help. i know how frustrating it is right now, but just make sure you visualize getting that clean pop and then

poorly written paragraph, so hopefully you get what i'm saying.

good luck with them man

dat happend to me a coulpe of times in the winter of last, i was just hucking too hard, find a bigger jump and then have a nice chillin spin, none of that carving on the lip on the way up cuz thats just a bad habit to get into. get comfy doing it on a day when the snows soft like a ballon good luck chad

let er flow

JOKES

but keep your hands in front of you and remember to spin after your pop and stay tall , just try off a small jump in a mini park or something. you look stupid at first by just penciling but it helps in the long run. also try not to wind up on the jump it will set your spin wrong ( probly why your corking a lil) the biggest thing is to keep your head up and shoulders square. some people say to bite your shouldur lol but kinda think about puttin your chin on top of it

hope that helps!

Also just do them on the ground and jumping off stuff in your spare time without skis on

This helps your awareness of where you are in the air

yeah bro..make sure to pop off evenly and make sure tht ur shuolders are even in the air..if u dip a shuolder or ur head ur body will naturally tend fall off axis.. good luck and just keep practicing

try to keep your hands out in front of you as well

dont spin off the lip of the jump, its a smaller rotation so you dont need to spin hard but im shure you got the rotation down just spin further up the lip, almost when your completly off of it, sometimes people also bring the legs up to quickly and this could send you off axis so maybe try to make your moves slow and simply and less will go wrong

ok for me when i come up to the lip i usually spread my legs a little.aslo look directly over your shoulder.head straight.dont let your hands flail.spot your landing.calim it like a motherfucker

It sounds stupid, but practice a million times on the floor. If you go off axis on the ground, you will notice it for sure.

I would recommend practicing spinning on the ground and keeping your eyes looking along the same horizontal plain as you are spinning, and check that you are landing even on both feet.
When skiing I would recommend approaching the jump in the same stance you would normally be and not bother counter rotating, not necessary if doing a 360 in general, this will keep you well balanced. As you leave the jump pop evenly when your toes reach the very top of the lip, popping too early causes some people to go slightly corked. Set the spin and stomp. Hope this helps.

when i had this problem friend of mine told me to learn 270's onto boxes first because it was a good way to learn to keep your body level and stay on axis. it kinda sucked at first because it was harder than 360's but once i learned how to 270 a 3 seemed like nothing.

make sure you pop off both feet! that is probably why you are corking...when pep try to learn threes they are so concentrated on getting it that you pop more off one foot to try to help yourself spin...you probably dont even know you are doing it. remember you gotta pop THEN spin. you can also try point of reference. that is what i needed to land my first 3. what you do is pick a point beyond the jump...when i was learning 3s there were condos at the bottom of the trail so i picked those...or pick a tree....or another jump. that way you have something to look for so you dont look at your feet. also it helps cuz when you are spinning you can think....condos condos condos...or whatever you are looking at instead of omg i need to land this 3 or im going to hate myself forever!

ATML approach, takeoff, maneuver, landing

approach - make sure you are in a good ski position ready to pop....so you want to have your legs bent...gotta make sure you have enough speed. so make sure you have hit the jump a few times

takeoff - make sure your pop off both feet at the lip of the jump

maneuver - spin your 360. put your chin to your shoulder and keep looking. DONT LOOK DOWN. try point of reference here

landing - land your 360 and ski away happy

repeat!

good luck dude! just have confidence! you can do it!!! let us know how it works out!!!
