yeaaa i saw it on the apple site. but i guess its a good deal at only 499$ !!! yea nottt. fuckin jacked prices like fuck. would you guys dish that out for it?

fuck ipod and steve jobs, that communist ass licker, buy creative more storage and options for the SAME price and then u not a fag with shity white earbuds

Find me a 32 gb ssd for 500 dollars. Then find me a touchscreen portable computer for 500 dollars. Then, if you've done that and it isn't the iPod touch, find me one with a useable interface (no Windows Mobile or Symbian)

Hating something because its popular is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

The reason its so "expensive" is because it uses solid state memory, not a hard drive. That shits not cheap.

flash, and this is kinda what i was waiting for, 16gb is too small, but the price is still too big

I'd get it if it was $200, and i didn't have my current MP3 player, and they fixed the firmware so it can play any video format (like most other players).

dude your dumb. its not popular amongst my friends. 2 have bought them, broke, sent tehm back for repair and now are trying to sell them.

theyve both switched back to teh ipod videos.

even though they break too.

Im not jealous or anything either if thats the next card your trying to play. I am quite happey with my 149$ investment of a zune...

but cmon, it doesnt cost that much more to up the HD space, and they charge multiple hundred dollars more to put it into the same package?

Yea, sure the touch is cool, but seriously, 500 dollars? can you not buy a MAC MINI for that much ? ...

I think they are fucking awesome. I'm not sure I need 32gb, but I like the idea that it is available. And a 16gb iPhone is kickass too.

the popular thing wasn't so much directed towards you but the other people that don't give reasons for not liking iPods.

It does cost that much more to up the HD space. Flash memory is complicated.

Heres a VERY brief description of how it works.

Memory is stored in binary, everything is a 0 or a 1, so open or close, high or low, etc.

Nand-gate-en.svg

Thats a NAND gate. Its what most flash memory is made of. Basically that little picture gets drawn into a chip and can be used to hold a 0 or a 1, so 1 bit. There are 8,589,934,592 buts in a gigabyte. So imagine drawing that picture 256 billion times on an area the size of a quarter. Think thats cheap or easy to do?

flash memory is getting really cheap though. you can buy a 2gb stick for 10 bucks anywhere. but 32gb is pretty big, but i still gotta say that the touch is overpriced.

legit.

shit I can hack any kids computer at my school with a few peices of info. from across the school.

It really is one of the best peices of tech out right now. The possibilities for the touch are endless.

I'm in love with my iPod touch, if the iPhone plans werent so damn expensive I deffinetly have one. It is one of the most versatile things in the tech world right now, and with it's size quality and never ending oppertunities compared to it's price, its a no brainer.

its expensive becasue it is a 32 gig FLASH drive. they arnt cheap. at least not as cheap as hard drives, thats one of the reasons tehy are so much more than classics. thats also why getting the 64 gig flash drive on your macbook air is like $1000 extra. its very expensive right now
