That movie is the best movie i have seen in quite a long time, I came out of it just wanting to fight people, Fight scenes were ridiculous just simply amazin
 
ur just jealous u went to the theater and it sold out when u got to the front. the clerk was like "suck it!" and u were all like no ways. u pull out a katana and attempt to chop off his head. he grabs the popcorn scoop and throws it at your eye. That's gotta hurt.

now you have one eye and u know that u still gotta get that ticket. u run to the dude that was infront of you and got the last ticket and u go to drop kick. willie nelson yells "DoDGE!" the dude looks behind him and does a backflip over you and when he lands kicks u in the head while ur still in the middle of you drop kick. ou go flying out the theater and walk home to the computer to come on NS. There's always tomorrow.
 
it was really good except, i though it was overdramitized, i felt there was soo much tension without the characterial substance behind it....like the speech the queen made, i had to chuckle haha, also i think there should have been a finer line betweek reality and fantasy, the best aspects of the movie were when they got close to the boundry, but didnt overstep it (like the prophet sequence and the character of xerces....those were the best parts of the film....but when they overstepped the boundry, it made it look stupid (like that guy with blades for arms, and the other guy that the kinf cut off his head, and the one spartin was sooo deformed, it looked ridiculous)....but overall it was filmed really well (almost exactly like sin city) and the world they created was really creative and took a real new perspective on history...its basically the movie ive always wanted to see as a 12 year old haha
 
i recently saw "The Zodiac" and that was pretty good.

I really wanna see 300, i might go tonight. It's worth it?
 
very entertaining. if you love big battle scene movies you'll enjoy it. i didn't like how they had things like monsters in it though, it kind of took me out of the film. but with a frank miller novel you aren't going to get pure historical facts though. and it has a couple unnecessary sex scenes, but i never think sex scenes are necessary for movies. but overall, fun to watch.
 
2nd best movie i have ever seen. i saw it twice last night. im seeing it at imax on monday and seeing it at a regular theater again on friday.
 
awesome, cept for the hunchback scene where the girls lick his back, that was just fucked up.
 
probably one of the worst movies i've ever seen. no joke. you idiots that find this shit admirable have to be simple-minded beyond belief. no comparison to gladiator at ALL.
 
gladiator dominates 300. maximuis coudl kill all the spartans by himself, he'd just need to find a canyon small wnought that you could only fight one soldier abrest.

300 was played, those two spartans were mad gay fro each other, the monsters were lame, they died way too easily, the comic filter was cooelr in sin city, the wife shit was unneccessary, i can go on.

i think when we say the movie was good, we mean that it was fun to watch and just had cool battle scenes. i don't think any of us actually think it was a great work of film, at least that's what i think. i don't think 300 was made to be a great work, just a movie to see people get own3d, which it delivered nicely.
 
This movie has a new style to it which i believe is very artistic and complex and will be replicated in the future. I believe this movie was like a modern form of literature. I found that the story telling and the epic metaphors, beasts, and power to be very Homeresque. Like something you would read out of the Illiad or the Odyssey.
 
lol maxmus had a hard time defeating some shitty fighters in an arena. leonidas took on a 2000 pound 15 foot high beast. it had him pinned and he managed to chop its fucking head off. you can think whatever you want but if you think maximus could have any chace against any spartan your a fucking fool. sorry its true.
 
Probably one of the best movies i have ever seen. im going to see that again but this time at the imax theater
 
I really liked it but somethings bothered me. The Ephors thing was basically bullshit, they were just Elders of Hellenes. There were no spartan squires or Thespians fighting among the Spartans, but I guess that would prove there was more than 300 that fought (around 1000). Also it was a Hot Springs local who told a Persian general about the "goat path." But things like the description of the Agoge I was impressed with. Also for the one guy said the two guys were gay for each other. Spartans were open to homosexuality, it was actually part of their war tactics. They wouldn't show weakness in front of one of their lovers, also it gave less reason to think about wanting to return.
 
seriously eipc. I'm a film/video major, and I liked it for all the technical aspects, and it just kicked ass in general. I too walked out wanting to fight people. I hope that nation-wide guys walk out of that  movie and kick the shit out of someone in the parking lot...
 
just got back from it and it was amazing. best movie ive seen in awhile, to bad IMAX version of it was sold out though
 
Well after sifting through your clauses, I think you were saying something about credibility. I pressume that you're implying that Frank Miller's Comic series "300" has just as much historical accuacy ancient Greek records and Herodotus. I'm just going to say, unless I'm missing your point, that's wrong. Frank Miller went out to make a successful comic series, in doing that takes romanticism of facts.

I know that the movie was meant to be based off the comic and own bitches with titty explosion and ninja jazzhands flips. It did a perfect job of that, it actually made me want to fight people afterwards. I'm just saying those parts kinda bothered me, most because you get a bunch of guys walking in and out of the movie talking and acting like know the whole history of the greco-persian war.
 
fintendo, there were truly 300 spartans at the battle of thermopylae the other 1000 were a coalition of greek troops half of which leonidas sent to guard the cowpath half. These pricks retreated when the saw xerxes coming up the path because they thought he was invading their city state so they fled to protect their families. Leonidas was real, the spartan warrior culture was real, the battle of thermopylae was real, the 300 spartans were real. Read herodotus, its all in there.
 
those guys who guarded the cowpath were the phoecians i believe. And sure, im sure the spartans back then were in no way as sick at fighting as the actors were but the fact remains that 300 spartans held off 200,000 persians for 3 days and could have possibly held out for longer if they were not betrayed. This whole thing started with the humiliation of Darius, xerxes father at the battle of marathon by the Greek coalition army, mainly made up of athenians. When they won the battle, Phydipiddes(sp?) ran 26 miles back to athens and said "Nike"(greek for victory) and collapsed dead in the town squared. The athenians built the temple of athena on the acropolis and shit to commemorate the victory and that pissed darius off so he pledged to get back at athens no matter what. He died before he could do so so xerxes inherited the hatred for the greeks. In truth, the battle of thermopylae and its success against the persians, even tho the battle was not won, is due largely in part to Themistocles (sp?) the genius behind teh defense of Greece.
 
I saw the movie the day it came out and I thought it was pretty damn good there were some parts where I was like "what the fuck" like the purple goat blazing but still I liked it... a lot
 
the comparison to gladiator is ridiculous. Gladiator was a period drama with some amazing action thrown in. 300 was an amazing fight scene with some plot thrown in. Still really really cool though. I just wanted to punch a wolverine (or something equally manly) after 300.
 
it kicked ass, i went last nite. i thought it was pretty fuckin crazy. and whoever said they died to easily in the end is a tool.
 
its kind of pathetic that you think you are so smart that you cant even enjoy a movie that doesnt contain all of the elements of a traditionally good film. Stop reading books about what makes a movie good and think for yourself you tool.
 
well im gonna go see it once my friend picks me up in like 10 minuets and were gonna blaze mad and ill give you what i thought of it

im one of those people that sees through acting way to much

we had to watch this weird ass ufcking movie about a bride to terabithia or some fucking shit about some lil shit running
