30 seconds to ski.

With a lot of great skier's passing away recently, I got thinking that how much longer we get to ski could easily be cut short through unforseen circumstances.

So my question to you is if you had the chance, for 30 seconds, to do anything skiing related before you could never ski again, what would it be?

Mine would be to get the best turns I've ever had in 4 foot+ pow, bluebid day, through trees with some mates.

hmmm i would wanna hit like a 4 rail line and just do some of the 8 on some nice down and dfd rails
scary to think bout that though but it puts everything into perspective and how in our sport everything can end so quickly

it would take longer than 30 seconds but i would want a nice slow run through a perfectly crafted park

Fuck that... I would build a giant pancake that goes up into space and drop down that... munching my way slowly... eventually ending up in a pool of pudding.

How about 1 run, not 30 seconds.

A real nice line from the top of alta to the bottom in 4 of fresh lake effect alone. My life would be complete

Really? If you only had 30 seconds left to ever ski you would use it on a few rails?? Damn. I kinda feel sorry for you
I think OP has had the best idea yet

K-fed off a 20 foot street style flat box into a open 60cms untouched bowl of powder.

and at the end of the powder bowl is the cliff i ride off and plumet to my death.

what? that is it?

mine would be hit a nice perfectly crafted huge jump and do a blunt 5, then do a couple powder turns

If it was 1 run i would say a bowl with 4 of fresh with a place to switch skis at the bottom then a dfd rail and a 75 Foot step over to huck what ever the hell i want and then i die

I would want a whole bunch of pow with some nice trees and some good cliffs for 25 seconds. And then with that last 5 seconds go off a huge 500 meter cliff where I would freefall to my death.

its already been decided if i am ever diagnosed with a terminal disease bed ridden or not i want to ski a close out line. waist deep powder slow lazy slashing turns just floating down the mountain straight at a cliff i wont survive. than just throwing a massive massive backflip than plummeting to the end. if im in a chair or cant walk strap me in a sit ski or just strap some skis to the bottom of my bed and push me. i will be satisfied if that is the way i go.

couldnt agree more. And at the end of the park there'd be a massive in-run to bomb it down to a fucking huge kicker to throw the craziest rotation/fliip ever due to the ridiculous amount of air you'd get

a highspeed pillow run down strawberry fields in niseko

or a run at my homemtn: it takes about 30 seconds to go down, but you have endless opportunities. windlip first, flat 5, small hip and small cliff at the end 180 to pow...

THAT!

I would bomb the olympic race course at bever creek (i think its birds of prey). it would be incredible just to go as fast as you can without worrying about dying. and if i made it to the bottom alive, put a massive 300 foot step down.

this would be a run not 30 seconds, but a really nice relaxed run through a perfect park, nailing all my tricks, into an amazing nice tree/pow run

Hit rails. and before anyone says "wtf you wouldn't take pow lol" no. I wouldn't. I'm from PA, i ski rails the most, i like skiing rails the most.

I would just sit there and marvel at the beauty of the mountains and reflect on the great happiness skiing has brought me.

Now that's deep. Isn't that what it's all about for us? This weird happy feeling that we get from riding on snow with skis on our feet? Whether it's turning lines in the pow, getting big air off jumps, sliding rails, or just messing around on the groomers, we all share in this same feeling of happiness and that's what Newschoolers is all about: sharing the happiness in a community.
